Just ran across this song with S.P. on backing vox and had never heard it before. Amazing -- both Steve Perry and Neal Schon guested on Sammy's "Danger Zone" album.

i still remember how excited i was when that album came out in 1979! i don't have the liner notes handy, but if i recall correctly, the other songs steve sings on are "love or money" & "heartbeat." i swear i hear steve's voice on "the iceman," but i don't think he's listed in the credits for that song. i was so impressed when, at a sammy show last year, steve's name randomly came up & sammy immediately rattled off which three songs he sang on. he must be a loon.

As a fan of the original show, I avoided this movie for over three years, but I saw it and actually liked it!

Yeah, I thought that video was the coolest when it came out, especially featuring Dweezil Zappa and his green Charvel guitar. I also liked the new Miami Vice movie. Finally bought a copy recently and need to watch it. I know it got slammed, but that's because some people just don't get Michael Mann, and didn't like the fact that he refused to include a whole bunch of winks and nods to the original show. I personally love his work -- usually kinda stark, serious and hard hitting, like Heat, and of course Public Enemies.

+1 Rip. I also am a fan of Michael Mann's films. One of my favorites is Thief starring James Caan. It also has an awesome soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.

One of favorite films AND film scores by one of my favorite bands ever. Nearly everything TD recorded from '73 to '87 is gold to my ears. Before that, it's dope music and after '87 or '88 they have recorded some solid stuff, but you really have to cherry pick. There is a LOT of junk swimming around in there!

I think he's one of the best filmmakers ever. His works have a totally unique look. Who else can make an interior shot of a carload of people riddled by bullets look somehow fresh and new? Mann's attention to the use of music in his films also sets him apart.

I watched Miami Vice yesterday -- only the second time I'd seen it since it came out. This time, I watched the DVD "making of" extras first, and it gave me a real appreciation for the film. I LOVED it. I figure it probably pissed the producers and all the non-fans off that Michael Mann didn't spoof the original series for a quick cash grab, cast people like Chris Rock and Owen Wilson in the main roles or at least have Crockett & Tubbs flying down the street with the top down, singing the Jan Hammer theme like they did in "S.W.A.T." ("Nah na naaaaaaaaahhhh, Nah na naaaaaaaaahhhh, Nah na naaaaaaaaahhhh........").

But it was his creation and he took it very seriously -- a really cool piece of Michael Mann work with stunning visuals, compelling music, and all business -- almost zero character development and not ONE single laugh in the entire film, and none of it needed! Really VERY Miami Vice for anyone that ever watched the show. Funny thing is, I really wished at times it was the young Don Johnson playing the modern role.

Thanks, RR...I've never heard this one before either - I can definitely hear SP, unlike some other BV songs where I can't.
