Even though the hardass/overprotective dad stereotype often fits when it comes to a dude dating their daughters, it seems much tougher for a girl dating a mother's son to win their trust :lol:

I think all but the most hardened fathers can be won over rather quickly if the boyfriend shows him that he's a man (firm handshake, eye contact, willing to make conversation) and overall respectful. Mothers, on the other hand, are much tougher to please for the girlfriend dating their son... they're just better at hiding it ;) I can always tell when my mom hasn't been sold on one of my girlfriends, even if she pretends she's really keen on them and does a damn good job of acting like it. So far though, her sense has proven right in hindsight for me! :shock:
