I nearly missed it. Got home in the last 15 minutes (in time to see Keith too!) and then as it was going off, I was like "Holy crap, that was Nick!"

I saw Rhi posting about Keith. Which one was he? Did they show him singing?

He sang Bryan Adams's "Heaven" - it was near the end.

If you're in the Chicago area, watch Fox news @ 9. Then head over to Keith's fanpage on Facebook where he's going to tell of his saga.

Just watched it. He got the pass to go to Hollywood, but they revoked it because he's not a citizen. Odd that he'd enter if he didn't meet the criteria. :? Sounded like he thought it would be through by now, but it isn't. Sucks.

From Keith:

ok everyone....i just sent an update from my fan site - http://www.facebook.com/#/pages/Keith-S ... 042?ref=ts - to explain the "details" of what happened with idol....so add yourself as a fan to read the details and check the links to 7th heaven band and my website etc :-) .... and remember....this is not american idols fault....so no haters please....just an unfortunate unbreakable rule...peace :-)

edit...

ooops, i didn't realize fan page updates go to your inbox. LOL.

Ok well Keith wants you become his fan to read it, so I'm not pasting. Go be his fan.

However, since he told this story to the whole city on the local news here tonight, I'm not really giving anything away...

unfortunately, i never received a correspondence in the mail that immigration said they sent and hence never replied to it ( how can i reply to a letter i never got!!!!!!) and hence the process was delayed until the appointment could be rescheduled....

On the news he said it was the post office's fault (isn't everything? LOL). Long story short, it was good to go and then the process got delayed and Idol couldn't wait for him.

Ya, neither were as good as Shania......but it was kinda entertaining to watch Katy keep giving it back to Kara though. Not much of a Kara fan, IMO she pretty much just parrots everything Simon says.

So... no one is gonna comment on the "last audition"?
Even my wife, right away, was like....
"That looks like..." 8)

And he was pretty good too.
But the hispanic guy with the little boy and parents that were in gangs,
he was THE BOMB! Great voice and control.

Thanks for posting that Deb, I had also heard about "the one who looks and seems like ...", lol, and had wanted to see a clip. That is so sad to hear, over 25 foster homes? No one ever wanted to adopt him, even as an 18 month old baby? :( So sad. I hope lots of good things happen for him.

Was rooting for him, and it's funny I could have swore I saw him standing with the top 12 male contestants, but then when they announced them he wasn't one of them? Looks like he was, but then disqualified?? http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/163246 ... tory.jhtml

Booted 'American Idol' Contestant Chris Golightly Vows To Fight On
Singer calls his dismissal a 'misunderstanding' at Hollywood press conference.
By Gil Kaufman

.On the eve of Wednesday's top 12 men's performance show, ousted contestant Chris Golightly told a small group of reporters that he's not giving up on his "American Idol" dream.

The singer, who made it to Hollywood and appeared to have made the top 24 cut, was mysteriously replaced at the end of last week's show by Tim Urban, with producers later explaining that a question about a previous contract he'd signed made them push the eject button at the last minute.

Golightly has cried foul, claiming the contract was not in place when he tried out for the show, but a copy of the document obtained by TMZ appeared to show that Golightly signed an exclusive deal with Dream Projects Entertainment on May 30, 2009, one month before trying out for "Idol." The terms of that contract were for two years.

At a brief press conference outside a Hollywood club on Tuesday morning (February 23), Golightly displayed what he said was proof that his contractual obligation had ended before he made the "Idol" cut. He then sang a bit of Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror," according to reports.

Golightly called the situation a "misunderstanding" and said the copy of the contract posted by TMZ that appears to be for two years was indeed signed in early 2009, but that he was released from it in June. He told the assembled reporters that he hopes to be reinstated on the show. A spokesperson for "Idol" — which has never reinstated a contestant dismissed for reasons other than poor singing in its nine-season history — did not return requests for comment on Golightly's statements. Golightly provided reporters with a copy of his release from DPE, which he said was signed in June.
Contestants trying out for season nine of "Idol" were required to sign a release stating that they had no recording or management commitments by the time they reached the semifinals. A spokesperson for Golightly could not be reached for comment at press time about what the singer's next move might be.

Okay. I haven't watched it all season, but watching them all give the girl advice, and Ellen added nothing to it, it was a bore until Simon came on and really laid it out for her. This show is going to fall apart without him. I just can't imagine it without him. I love Randy and he is always solid. Kara really knows what she's talking about, but I'm just not a big fan of hers. I miss sweet, crazy Paula. Love Ellen, but not sure on here. Of course, I've only seen her this one time with one singer, so will reserve until end of the season.
