This is pretty exciting... :) .

YES!! Neal is planning on releasing both Schon & Hammer albums! The only problem is that if everything else is grouped into and downloads like a boxed set, I'll have to repurchase all of the music I already paid for in CD format. :( It will be worth it to have more of Neal's music, but I had better start saving for it now!

It's doubtful I can travel to LA/San Francisco, but I really hope I get a chance to see Neal on tour under his own name, playing his own music - what an awesome experience! How about it Jana, are you heading for LA this spring?

A concept album sounds awesome; now is probably the perfect time to fire Valory's ass. Hire a session player instead. Leeland Sklar or Nathan East would kick ass, and they would be able to be included in a possible DVD too. You all know Valory is far to frail to have both camera's and light on him. He'd jsut crumble into ashes after the pressure of trying to hide his mediocre playing with funny faces became just too much to handle.

Seriously though: I'm looking forward to the album. Sounds cool. :D

When Chubby, April? Or does this mean he's not leaving for USA at all this year?

Howabout Journey fire you as a fan instead? You know, if some egomanic lead singer hadn't entervened, Ross Valory would have been as fortunate as Schon and been able to play on every Journey album. I've gotta call you off base on that whacked out idea.

Agreed..It's a given that the biggest blunder in Journey history was Perry jettisoning that star rythym section, the drummer of which is still on drumming magazine covers yearly. What's with all the anti Ross artillery on this board lately? Insane. Ross kicks ass!!! Always has and always will!

I'm pretty sure Neal does the bass lines for Journey now. I remember reading that he did them for Revelation.

If that's the case...then a few thoughts. First, that might further explain why Revelation sounds a bit 'off' to me.

Second...if he's doing that. Then he's no fucking better than Eddie Van Halen (not in any musical sense, but personal)...and that's not good company to be with. Just when I thought I would start listening to the fucker, that little midget starts pulling this shit! Ugh!

Those guitars are ugly, yes, but if they're more affordable than and have a similar feature set to the Schon LP I might think about it if funds are available...

That is true...he always seems excited, with a child-like wonder about it all, even 'tho he himself is a master. I'm definitely gonna try to see the new band (please don't be on a frickin' school night!)...happy to hear Marco is in.

Uh oh, is he already trying to ween off of the harder rocking angle? What ever they're coming up with, he has been pretty consistent about stating it's not going to be made for radio. I'm sticking with my theory that he goes to digital release with people who need hard copies getting them from the Journey website.

Nah! I want a Schon album and a Journey album. I remember some interview way back where Schon was trying to write and it kept ending up sounding like Journey music. I think that was when they decided to reform the band. I think the new Journey will still basically sound like Journey. I don't think he and Jon can do otherwise.

They won't stray too far from the Journey sound, lest the fans throw beer bottles. Schon understands this possibility first hand.
