Love The Who. Zak was the only one who had it going on.
Pete was ridiculously terrible. He changed all his lead parts to sloppy crap and when he'd sing, it was kind of whenever he felt like it. Terrible.
Roger struggled vocally, but at least he was trying to be good. Pete was just embarrassingly bad.
Cool set. Nice to not see a bunch of phony fans on the field as in past superbowls.
The worst superbowl performance I've ever seen and probably the worst Who performances I've ever seen.
Major letdown.
I knew it wasn't gonna be great, but yikes...

I mean I was expecting it to be bad because Roger can't do anything but scream these days, so I'm not as appalled as you. Pete's guitar sounded downright neutered. No balls. Shoulda broken out the Hiwatts instead of those Fenders I guess.

I wasn't that disappointed in Roger, cuz I expected him to not have any range, but Pete... jesus, is he back on the sauce or what? Terrible and embarrassing.
I'm a huge Who fan, too bad. Nice how the scream was flown in... haha. I mean, he could barely hit those other notes and yet the scream was dead on???
Come on...
I don't usually say "hey, yer time is passed" but wow, The Who, such as they are these days, should really hang it up. The last few times I've seen them, they've been just pitiful. I remember the Stones sucking a few years ago too.
McCartney brought it though, but his co-60s (referring to the decade, not their ages) bands are not keeping it together like he is in any way shape or form.

I'm with you, I'm all for these guys stickin around and performing for us as long as possible, but when it reaches a certain point like The Who have it's just time. I'm a big fan as well. But, reality is reality. Pete was indeed horrendous. It's time to hang them up.
The Stones fuckin suck anyway so I'll defer discussing that example.

Get Quadrophenia. Beats the shit out of Tommy or Who's Next. Great album with some excellent playing.

Did not begin all that well... improved a bit as it went along.
I got about what I expected, knowing that Roger's vocal trouble has increased as of late.
However, it was tons better than what Journey did last year.

"Considering their age"- Come on Jana. Regarding the Stones- guitar parts are guitar parts. Mick's vocals aren't that tough or rangy by any means. They would've been better concentrating on their musicianship rather than trying to be the characitures that they've become. Again, check the Scorcese movie. They're much better there. Ronnie Wood plays some great lap steel in that and Mick actually has a couple of great performances- As Tears Go By for one.

What do you mean the caricature they have become? I mean, they can't be what they were when they were younger, but they still have some edge.
Was the Super Bowl great? No. but I enjoyed it. At least it wasn't lip synching like some have done on there or others that were lackluster. There have been many shows that are lackluster. I thought the Stones' performance at least had some real energy to it.

He's been playing pussy-sounding Fenders since The Who started touring again in the late 90's. Don't ask me why...thin, single-coil sound...sounds like shit, especially for that band.

They can't be what they were when they were younger, but Mick continues to try and be that guy. That's my point. He looks ridiculous and he'd be smarter to concentrate on his vocals than the moves. And thanks for correcting "Caricature"!
