I'm glad the snow missed us again. 42 more days.

I would venture to say that most older houses in older cities such as pittsburgh, have REAL fireplaces. At least where I grew up that's how it was. Newer homes probably opt for the gas or electric. What's a wood stove? Did you live on a Little House on the Prairie by chance??

Damn, Pitt definitely got hit a lot worse than us.

I fucking hate snow mainly because of the driving issue. It's scary as fuck

I'm definitely getting a 4-wheel drive car when it's time for a new car in a few years.

I have family in Maryland and they have 22 inches so far. My cousin said it's still steadily falling and is expected to for another 4-5 hours. Yikes. They are making the best of it though and all the neighbors are planning a get-together with a drunken snowball fight later

Still no power, charged the laptop battery by plugging in on of those converters with the 3 prong outlets that plug into a cars 12V lighter/power outlet.

House is 53 degrees and dropping...Oi!

We don't have it as bad here in Cincinnati, but with the 7 hills ,7 in + takes time to clear. Monday night another snow storm into Tuesday.

Still no power, rigged a single outlet being run by my car that allows me to have my laptop running.

45 degrees and dropping in my house...they claim my power will be on by 11:00pm, of course they said the same thing last night.

I have all my faucets running slowly to prevent my lines from freezing, but I can't do that with my baseboard hot water heat.

Those pipes are goners I am thinking.

Well the nice thing is that it will get my boiler replaced since it is going to freeze too.

Now I hear we could get 6 or more inches, Tuesday into Wednesday...and yet ANOTHER storm this weekend.

It's a never ending fucking nightmare...

What a nightmare! You will be glad for spring to arrive.

I have some gerbils and an exercise wheel that you can borrow to generate some power...and a snuggie that I got for Christmas last year.
I do hope that you get power SOON.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I love big snowstorms having lived in big snow country most of my life, but I've never gone through a major power outage. 4 hours once in the summer and I was freaking out.

I really hope you get your power back soon RVR. If not it may be time to leave for awhile. Good Luck and I hope you still have a boiler for heat when this is done. :( :(
