SIMON IS A PRODUCER who has gobs of talent in the pop world...those that hate simon are jealous what HIS INTUITION regarding talent... IDOL without Simon is done. STERN would not be able to find POP talent... only BOOB talent..LOL...

I agree. Simon was brought up in the industry and has succeeded in various arenas of the entertainment world. Get rid of him and Idol becomes the Gong Show minus the humor. People are going to be expecting Stern to act just like he has for the last 20 years, not realizing that network TV will have him neutered. Having Ellen there just makes it worse. If all this comes to pass I see a slight surge in ratings at first and then the show finally tanks.

AI has so many problems. One is Paula missing and now Simon. The producers have to create more controvery . That will create huge mistakes, on their part. So,in comes Howard Stern, which will make middle America vomit. This show is not about music anymore, but selling commercials. The elephant in the room is that they will never have another Adam. Their viewers will always be looking for that caliber of talent. That would be nearly impossible since he is reminding many of Freddie Mercury, including Brian May.

I never got into that show much. And I am not a big fan of Stern, though I know many are. I am not much of a shock jock fan. I like Randy since the days he was on the ROR tour. He is a sweet man. But the music seems too contrived, fabricated. I miss they way bands used to get famous.

Why not?

I think Stern could be perfect for the role. He is a legend, has a great speaking voice, has tons of years of music and radio experience. Obviously, the American Idol producer is going to give ANY new seat a set of guidelines. Actually, I cannot think of a better replacement for Simon!

I think Howard Stern and Ellen DeGeneres should make a porn film together and leave American Idol to Simon Cowell and ANYBODY other than Ellen. (I thought Posh Spice did a superb job replacing Paula.)
