I draw the line in the sand with you righties on this one. Come on. For every gaffe (and this doesn't qualify) from Obama, there are one hundred by the Worst President Ever.

Get over it...and try to see past your obvious prejudices. Yes, that IS what I am saying.

Isn't not a "gaffe", it is NOTHING but opportunistic self aggrandizement. It was extraneous info that wasnt need to make his point.

It's touching that he had a campaign worker who wanted to be buried in his shirt...it is shitty that his campaign wouldn't provide her with health insurance.

she worked on his campaign for 4 years all the while fighting breast cancer.

wow.

if someone came here (to mr)... no insurance... you can bet the money would start flowing in to help that person out.

this story was probably all made up anyway. people miss work because they have a cold/flu. multiply that by 100.

Guess the conservative 'right to life' mantra depends on political beliefs.

Pretty pathetic.

I had no hand in her death, asshole, and I'm certainly not grandstanding. I'm merely pointing out that anyone that wanted to be buried in a fucking t-shirt of a shitty one-year president probably isn't hitting on all 8 cylinders.

You see, Dan? You just don't get it.

For instance, what's wrong with my request that upon my passing, I be smeared in alligator shit, have Ernest Borgnine read my eulogy, and then be tossed into the Nile River?
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Wait, wait, wait one damned minute!!! :x

A few posts up people were thrashing Sarah Palin for expressing her love for her country, and using it to "manipulate patriotism as a carrot to dangle in front of their countrymen in order to manipulate them into joining their cause". Now, you try to justify Barack Obama using this poor woman's plight by saying it's her right to be buried however she feels fit? Bullshit!

I don't think BO should have paid this woman's health insurance for her, as she was apparently volunteering to serve on his campaign. However, for him to use this as a call to arms for healthcare passing is POLITICS AT IT'S WORST! If that really happened, then he should have privately used it as a motivation to fight harder for his cause (I can certainly understand that), but to use such a story to try to tug at heartstrings is simply horrible. It should be embarrassing to him. Hell, it's embarrassing to me as a citizen.

How old was this woman?

If she was under 50, she would've been denied mammograms under the Obamacare proposal that was working its way through Congress. Recommendations from the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force would become law, including ones to ration mammograms to women under 50.

Takes chutzpah to eulogize a woman who would've been denied care under the very proposal you advocate.

So what's the t-shirt say? "I Went to ObamaLand to Get Subsidized Mammmograms, and All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt"?

she found a small lump when she was 37 but ignored it because she didn't want to pay the money it would have cost for her to get a mammy. she had insurance so right there obama either lied or was misinformed. just to give him the benefit of doubt he probably just became aware of this woman when he received the forwarded email. but what about the others in his staff/campaign/friends/family? couldn't they have raised funds to help her with any medical bills? couldn't they maybe have helped her find an organization that would help her? it's a little too late now. something should have happened to maybe help save her life FOUR YEARS AGO.

I could care less who appointed this task force. Nor did I assert that they acted under pressure from the Obama administration. (Two red herrings down.)

My point was: the ObamaCare proposal in the Senate would've adopted into law the U.S. Preventive Task Force's recommendation regarding mammograms. The effect, if the Senate bill would be signed into law, would be to ration mammograms for women under 50 as a point of administrative procedure.

And from what I've read, this woman suffered with cancer from the ages of 37 to 41, when she died. So, again, under the Senate bill, she would've presumably been denied routine mammograms.

I see nothing in this woman's life story, as sad as it is, that suggests she would've benefited from ObamaCare.

Too much. You CONS are something else. A woman dies of a God given illness, and due to the fact she can't shit out the money for treatment, we say, oh well, and oh yeah, Obamacare wouldn't have helped her. Again, you people make me sick. There are thousands of people in this country who have illnesses that cost more money than they or their family will ever make, and your attitude is, "too bad, don't raise my taxes." How about the 5 year old Philadelphia boy who has a disease where tumors continue to sprout up in his body, and it can be contained and/or defeated, but there isn't enough money to cover the medication? That little boy now gets to die this year, because of the selfish rotten scumbag attitudes of the Right. Congratulation hypocrites. Yes, you Bible thumping fuckers who fight for pro life and all that shit, but conveniently turn a blind eye to your fellow citizens who need your help. You're the real scumbags here.

As to your point about Obamacare not covering the woman's cancer SeperateWayz- LOL, the Senate bill is so watered down now because of the just say no republicans, no wonder you cite that. Obamacare, in it's original form, had everything covered. It was a great and compassionate idea; could have changed this country forever. Instead, the do nothing scumbag conservatives just said no, and now because of them, people are dying. Pat yourselves on the back. Congratulations. Who knows what that woman could offer the country? Maybe she could have brought some ideas, care or joy to other people? But no, one poster claimed it wasn't a loss for the world because she wanted to be buried in an Obama T shirt. That is just, wow. Who knows what the future held for that 5 yr old Philadelphia boy? He could have grew up a genius, invented something we all could have benefited from, or I guess just could have lived a happy long life. But nope, he will be dead this year, because he can't afford his medication. The thought we allow this to happen here makes me sick.

sounds to me that you’re just using tired scare tactics. the task force has been making nonbinding recommendations for years. now that a democrat is in power you want to paint it as some sort of trojan horse death panel power grab. luckily, the american people are a whole lot smarter than you know.

Not so fast. There are millions in this God forsaken place that believe whole heartedly in Sarah Palin. Those aren't smart people. Sarah Palin couldn't debate the very people on this here Board. She is absolutely the single dumbest person to rise this far in politics.

Yeah, we're the ones who are dumb Dean!
Democrats up in this cycle are running from Obama as fast as they can. It's not going to help. He's going to bring an ass-whipping upon the Democrats that we've NEVER seen before, including '94. It'll continue into 2012 until the ObamaStain is gone! Guaranteed!!!!

On January 24, 1995, President Bill Clinton delivered his State of the Union address to a Congress that looked radically different than the body of representatives that the President faced only one year earlier. Motivated by Newt Gingrich’s Contract with America and their disdain for “HillaryCare,” the American people had catapulted the Republican party to the majority position for the first time since 1954. In his opening remarks, the President made a point to let the American people know that he had gotten the message loud and clear. With his declaration that the “era of big government” was over, President Clinton showed that he “got it”:

“If we agree on nothing else tonight, we must agree that the American people certainly voted for change in 1992 and in 1994. And as I look out at you, I know how some of you must have felt in 1992. I must say that in both years we didn’t hear America singing, we heard America shouting. And now all of us, Republicans and Democrats alike, must say: We hear you. We will work together to earn the jobs you have given us. For we are the keepers of the sacred trust, and we must be faithful to it in this new and very demanding era.”

The American people had sent a clear message to the Democrats in 1994, one that could not be ignored and could not be misinterpreted. The people were unhappy with the course of their government and were calling for change. President Clinton went on to participate in some very successful bipartisan policy initiatives including balancing the budget and reforming welfare.

Contrast Mr. Clinton’s response with President Obama’s posture in the aftermath of the recent electoral upset in Massachusetts' race that many have interpreted as a referendum on the Democrats’ health care plan and the Obama administration in general. In the face of a humiliating defeat for the Democrat party, the president seems incapable of admitting that he and his colleagues on Capitol Hill might have misinterpreted their “mandate” from the people. He appears unwilling to consider the possibility that the American people reject his brand of “change.” Instead, he has decided that his steadily declining approval rating and the historic election of a Republican in Massachusetts is a symptom of the people’s ignorance and confusion

You're dreaming. You of course will "win" the mid terms, as every party out of power does, but the Dems will still have control. Don't worry though, I am sure you stiffs can still just say no for another two years until you get dusted in the presidential election yet again. You haven't anyone who can win. Palin sucks. Please don't tell me you are a Palin backer.

Trivia question for you. President Clinton was in trouble much like Obama is now. Did he get re-elected? LOL, you guys are a sorry bunch of losers.

I'd be willing to flip through the phone book blindfolded and point to a random name rather than the destructive joke that's there now. So yes, I'd take Palin in a heartbeat!

Didn't you read that portion of that column I posted? Or didn't it sink in? It pointed out how Clinton heeded to the will of the people, Obama's treating us as if we're stupid. It's coming dude....it's going to be a bloodbath! New Jersey and Massachussetts for God's sake! Republicans are going to take 8 more Senate seats in November!

guess you missed the state of the union. obama has put deficit reduction front and center. meanwhile the republicans continue to vote against bringing back paygo rules and a deficit reducing panel. obama has pivoted like clinton. it's the gop who continues down the path of obstructionism and reckless spending.

guess you missed the state of the union. obama has put deficit reduction front and center. meanwhile the republicans continue to vote against bringing back paygo rules and a deficit reducing panel. obama has pivoted like clinton. it's the gop who continues down the path of obstructionism and reckless spending.

I heard what he "said", he's a bald faced liar. Perhaps you missed the additional $80 billion their going to flush down the toilet for "stumulus" The American people aren't stupid. They didn't like this in '94 and they still don't like it! What don't you understand about that?

Not surprised. You CONS are so fucking racist anyways. Why don't you just come out and say it? I think you're a bunch of pussies. Why doesn't Rush just come out and denounce "Niggers?" I guarantee you all would loving it.

So sad.

you can try to stimulate demand through spending or tax cuts. both will add to the deficit. the stimulus the gop proposed when obama took office would've added even more to the deficit than the one finally passed. instead of whining,, i think you should try to channel your negative energy toward solutions so that we never find ourselves in this fix again. and now the gop wants to end medicare. talk about pulling the plug on granny!! where’s the outrage???

Actually Dean, it's just Rush trying to attract attention to the real racists! You're like a moth to the flame. Enjoy!

RUSH: Now, ladies and gentlemen, was it not a cable network owned by NBC, which led the charge saying I was mean-spirited, a bigot and so forth in that Michael J. Fox thing? Was it not a cable channel owned by NBC that has been trying to get Sarah Palin to denounce me for using in a satirical way the words of Harry Reid and Rahm Emanuel? "The R-word." Yes. So there is a sign posted at the NBC cafeteria "celebrating" Black History Month. They post this menu in honor of Black History Month, and a disgruntled employee took a picture of it and e-mailed it. Fried chicken.

NBC
In Honor of Black History Month
Fried Chicken
Collard greens w/
Smoked Turkey
White rice/Black Eyed Peas
Jalapeno Cornbread
16 oz Fountain Soda or
20 oz Aquafina Water

He wasn't the only employee to notice. Fried chicken in honor of Black History Month. I wonder if the servers at the NBC cafeteria in February, Black History Month, speak with a "Negro dialect." Well it's NBC, folks, and they're supposedly above the fray. Those people would never, ever engage in anything so offensive, would they? But there they are -- and it was a couple of disgruntled employees who snapped pictures with their cell phones, and the pictures were all over the net.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: By the way, I'm reminded of something. We've got the NBC cafeteria sign in honor of Black History Month: fried chicken, collard greens. It's a giant sign as you walk into the cafeteria, and I'm reminded what happened to Fuzzy Zoeller at the Masters after Tiger first won there. Fuzzy was asked what he would say to Tiger. "Well, I just hope you don't bring fried chicken to the championships dinner next year," and he lost Kmart, which is a million-dollar endorsement, he lost all kinds of endorsements, and I happen to know this from people that would not let that die. Now here's NBC, hey, we're not only talking about it, we are offering it, in honor of Black History Month: fried chicken. The only thing that's not on the menu is watermelon.

Now, Snerdley, how could I do a media tweak and turn this into my having written the sign? How could I, 'cause this is what they did with Rahm Emanuel and the R-word thing, is I started it all. So NBC and their cafeteria has got this sign in honor of Black History Month with fried chicken. Since I mentioned watermelon they'll put me in there: "Limbaugh insulted blacks on his program yesterday by saying the fried chicken dinner is not complete without watermelon." I'll tell you what, that's what I'm going to do. Next week on Monday, it's Presidents Day but we're going to be here. We're going to call a place and we're going to have chicken strips, chicken breasts, white chicken meat delivered here for the whole staff. Well, I know Snerdley doesn't eat meat, but he can at least smell it, and we will have collard greens and watermelon, we'll bring it all in here. (interruption) Well, it doesn't matter. Snerdley doesn't like it, he can't eat chicken. (laughing) He's a vegan, and he doesn't like watermelon, but the rest of the staff does. But that's not the point, Snerdley. You'll still be black enough to criticize, don't worry about that.

What I'm going to do is make a big deal, and we're going to turn this around. You watch. By Monday, since they haven't reported the NBC sign anyway, that's only because a couple employees were offended and took pictures with their cell phones and it's all over the Net, oh, this is going to be fun. Folks, don't tell anybody we're going to do this. Psst, keep it between us. Don't tell anybody. We're going to make a big deal of ordering fried chicken and watermelon for the whole staff here on Monday, in honor of Black History Month. Ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho. I know what's gonna happen, we all know what is going to happen. Hopefully Al Sharpton, the Reverend Jackson will go ballistic here. And then on our website we can put the picture of the NBC cafeteria sign.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: What's the question, Snerdley? No barbecued ribs, no barbecued ribs. Don't complicate this. You want some tofu? We'll get some fried tofu, but you don't eat barbecued ribs anyway. Now, I'm going to show the picture on the Dittocam. Let me zoom in tight here. This is the cell phone picture that went out, it was taken by the member of the band of Jimmy Fallon's show. This is the commissary at 30 Rock. NBC, in honor of Black History Month: fried chicken, collard greens with smoked turkey, white rice, black-eyed peas, jalapeno cornbread. You see it. I want to provide video of this so it can be spread even further, all the way across the World Wide Web. And of course it helps that our camera here is HD, which will not obscure the quality of the whole thing. So that's the picture. That's at 30 Rock. And again, the employee, NBC employee was Questlove. So far one million people on Twitter have seen it. Questlove is the band leader and drummer for The Roots, which is the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

When you have financial troubles at home do you spend more in the hopes that it'll raise your income? I know it's stupid! Obama isn't trying to stimulate anything but dependence on government. He's a Marxist. It's what they do.

this is rush's attempt to poke fun at the fact that nbc served this exact menu celebrating black history month. of course limbaugh doesn't tell his listeners that nbc's head chef is african american. big difference. as usual rush gives half a story and you repeat it without thinking. no wonder you are already purchasing palin 2012 pins, yard signs, and bumper stickers in bulk.

This is Rush calling out those who need calling out. What's it matter what color the head chef is?
Just admit your Obama is a disaster of a president. Just like I told you he'd be.

You'd better let that conservative yakker Wanda Sykes know that it doesn't need calling out!

Not so fast. There are millions in this God forsaken place that believe whole heartedly in Sarah Palin. Those aren't smart people. Sarah Palin couldn't debate the very people on this here Board. She is absolutely the single dumbest person to rise this far in politics.

I don't think Barack Obama's alleged intelligence has served him particularly well so far in Washington. Voters have repeatedly been saying "NO!" to his agenda (both the product AND the process), but he (and/or his team of politicos) seem unable (or unwilling) to hear what voters are loudly saying at the polls. Is that arrogance? Hubris? Political naivete?

Intelligence is fine and dandy as far as it goes. But much of politics seems to require good judgement, on both policy and political grounds. Regardless of his alleged intelligence, Obama is beginning to look like he has a serious deficit of good judgement.
