the *FACEPALM* topic

Postby bluejeangirl76 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 1:37 am

Post your *facepalm* moments here.

And the original title was The "I'mma Smack A Bitch" Topic... but I'm unclenching a little now...

Today's *facepalm* is a DOUBLE and it goes out to a particular co-worker who REFUSES to pay friggin' attention.
This morning was at LEAST the 4th time I have had to explain file setup to him.

I explained it 3 times and then (at my boss's direction) I sent the whole department an email with detailed instructions of what to do and what NOT to do when sending me files to upload for email marketing.

What did he do? He sent me a file complete with literally ALL of the things done that I said NOT to do. I realize he isn't the sharpest blade in the Lady Gillette, but COME ON.

NOW, I have to waste more time creating a format sheet with screenshots, because apparently words are too bloody difficult to handle. (it's either that or waste even more time reformatting the files every time the come to me wrong)

*double facepalm*

I think pictures might be too difficult for your co worker at this stage!!
I have staff co-worker issues as well... regarding paying attention... but it would take too much time here to cover it!

I will just say I feel your pain!!

I feel your pain. Our corporate office is full of people who lack common sense so I do several facepalms EVERY day. My dog gets things better than they do.

So I'm the only person that ever encounters morons?

And NO ONE else has anyone or anything to gripe about? Am I on the right message board?

This morning I bought two breakfast burritos from the breakfast burrito making dude. He makes them at home, brings them in and sells them for $1 a piece. They're damn good too.

So I get them, and then I have to report to deicing, which is a long way from where I do my daily work and the burrito making dude works and peddles his damn good burritos. I get to deicing with just a few minutes to gobble down my breakfast and head out to the remote deicing location.

I grab a paper towel, unwrap my newly purchased, damn good burritos, and shove them in the microwave. Well, evidently someone had left a puddle of some kind of liquid in the microwave which immediately soaked the paper towel and my damn good burritos. Not knowing what it was that was all over my breakfast, I, with quite a display of irritation, heaved them into the trash can. I then began to preach to the choir about "People needing to clean up after themselves since their mothers don't work there", or something to that tune. Needless to say, I was disappointed, aggravated, irritated and a little pissed off.

Not sure if this could be categorized as a face-palm moment, but it was the start to my work day, which didn't improve much from that point forward. ;)

Today's moment... but this is a funny one...

My boss and I share an office and due to space limitation and outlet/internet line location, our desks face each other.

I don't know how this happened because I didn't see it fall, but 10 minutes ago, she knocked over a big travel cup (with no lid) of coffee and she managed to launch a tidal wave of day old cold gross coffee across her whole desk and came within barely 1 foot of soaking me also. All I saw (and smelled) was yucky coffee coming at me.

Here's the facepalm part - she starts racing to clean it up, but does she immediately attend to both her laptop and her blackberry which are BOTH soaked?

Nope. She starts mopping up the chair. *facepalm* Thank god one of us was paying attention.

Here's a good one for Urban Dictionary:

"Friga was about ready to do a face palm when he heard the news about Steve Perry's hip surgery, but he opted to do a rosy palm instead."
