Why did WTC-7 collapse, and at free-fall-speed at that when it was not hit by a plane and it only had a few minor fires burning inside of it?

Oh, I don't know ... perhaps because there was basically a fucking earthquake when The Twin Towers came down! And this:

Why did the 3 and only 3 buildings that Larry Silverstein had taken out insurance on collapse very shortly after he took out insurance that would pay off in the event of terrorist attacks? Wow, another bizarre coincidence!

It is sometimes argued that Larry Silverstein made such a large profit, in insurance proceeds after the 9/11 attacks.

Here are some of the costs incurred:

$700 million - to build the new 7 World Trade Center
$504 million to finish the interior spaces of 7 World Trade Center [12 million (per floor) * 42 leasable floors]
$1.4 billion to restore the adjacent Verizon Building, which was damaged by the collapse of WTC7

Why did the twin-towers also collapse at free-fall-speed? Even if the steel had weakened, the collapse would have taken time. they would have had far too much resistance for it to have collapsed at free-fall-speed.!

Once one floor pancakes the one below it, there's a domino effect.

Also interesting how until 9/11 there had never been one single tower that had had a complete collapse as a result of fire, even though there were other towers that had fires that burned much hotter and longer than the fires in the twin-towers and WTC-7.

Well, it's also a coincidence that those "other" fires didn't have fucking airplanes blasting through the buildings knocking all of the protective foam off of the beams! Here's an explanation (not that one was needed if you used common sense!):

Sprayed on fire proofing is just that, sprayed on. It is light, fluffy and friable and comes off the beams fairly easily. That is why it is so dangerous when it contains asbestos. The asbestos fibers are easily released if the material is disturbed.

One other, very important thing to keep in mind. The core walls of the towers consisted of double thickness of drywall for fire protection of the core shafts. Typically, these walls are installed before the sprayed on fireproofing is applied, otherwise you can not build the walls close enough to the columns as they need to be.

Those walls were breeched by the impacts. This is evident by the number of elevators that crashed, the fireballs from the exploding jet fuel that burst into the lobby, etc. Even that transcript from the fire chief indicates numerous breaches into the stairwells.

When these walls were broken and smashed, the unprotected steel underneath would have been exposed.

Truth be told RWF, I was a Hillary supporter, before any caucus or primary was held. I always maintained that she would be great and that she would be much better than Obama. While I think Obama is extremely capable of this job, I do think he took the wrong issues on at the wrong time. If health care reform was not a topic in American politics today, Obama would be up in the 60's approval skies. He should have waited until after the midterms, and hoped that he could have continued on steadily, with good luck and good numbers and picked off a few more GOP seats. He had to know the blue dog Dems couldn't truly be counted on for 60 votes. Summation: He took it on(HCR) too early and should have led off a JOBS bill to go along with the stimulus. Get the motor running and the train moving, gather some momentum and bring in the electorate to your corner. Once there, then, and only then, lay out the HCR plan. He would have momentum, good will in the political bank and tons of political confidence as well as electorate confidence.

So would I bail off Obama to support Hillary? Absolutely, although I don't see that happening. Obama still has time in his term, maybe not the first midterm, but he has time to have the economy come back which it already is; he has time rally the country and spur on consumer confidence and get people the purchasing power he folks need to to in then fire the economy back to Clinton like levels. The GOP needs the economy to be rotten and failing for them to win. So far, they are getting it, partly for doing nothing, and derailing many good and decent bills presented by the Dems.

However, I can't see Hillary running for president against BO...he would need to bow out(make a fake excuse up, like family desires), and then yes sir. i am sure she would do it, and she would win. I really think Dems would go to the polls for her. She has been solid as Secretary of State. No one disputes this. I think a great many Dems secretly wished she were on top of thicket last year...oh well.
