Police Academy

Those of you old enough to remember how funny these movies were back then,,,, even though they seem a bit cheesy when you watch them now, theyre still classic with many great one-liners and scenes that bring back memories,,,

Anyhow, this morning they had Michael Winslow - Officer Larvell Jones on the radio,,, yes, the guy that can make 1000 sound effects & impressions. He was doing a Cheech&Chong bit and make a dozen of sound effects.....He's amazing !
When they asked him if he still talks to the other guys from Police Academy series, he said yes,,,matter of fact they're working on a new Police Academy with pretty much the entire old cast & original director involved....

My favorite scenes are how Captain Harris & Proctor end up in Blue Oyster Bar over and over ....

Hmm. Not sure how I feel about that... but I DO love that movie - the 1st one is my favorite.
They shouldn't even attempt it unless they can get the Gute. Which shouldn't be hard... I mean, what's he doing now anyway?
There won't be a Tackleberry though. :(

:( David Graf was a great funny actor,,,,
Gute will be in , as will many others,,, but it wont be the same without Tack,,,,, If I had to guess 10 years ago, Id guessed that Lassard would go before Tack,,,

Since when do we ever listen to Him? I never do anyway. I should make about 14 new polls. Really get him all fired up. I love that.

I'm old enough to remember the Police Academy movies, but I don't think I watched any past the fourth one. The next one must be the original gang heading for retirement! I can't believe the lack of creativity in Hollywood - all they do now is resurrect old ideas, TV shows and movies. Recently I read that Three Men and a Bride is in development, so hopefully Steve Guttenberg doesn't have to decide between that and Police Academy 8. It might get a little weird with Capt. Debbie Callahan, but she does still look pretty good for 61.  They have to have a Blue Oyster bar scene too - it would be a disappointment if they didn't!

I met Michael Winslow several years ago after one of his shows here in Columbia. I was friends with the manager of the Comedy Club, and he hooked us up. Michael was a very nice, down-to-earth guy. He was funny as hell too! He talked to my wife and I for about twenty minutes, and he surprised me by how articulate and smart he was. He doesn't seem anything like his on-screen characters at all. Very humble and amazing person!

I also got to hang out with Jim Breuer for quite a while too. He was so damn funny, it was crazy! He told us several stories backstage that were just amazing about his times at SNL. He said the coolest person he got to meet there was Jack Nicholson, and his story about it was freaking hilarious!!! He told us several funny things about Will Ferrell and some of the other cast-members too, and it was a blast talking to him. Very VERY cool guy. :D
The artist formerly known as Jim. :-)
