I was looking for info on a drummer named Dean. I guess I should have searched for 'Deen'. I met Dean alright, in all his glory, and I didn't even bring a flame retardant suit!  8)

I put the blame  on that erstwhile ndgomez777 Faithfully upload. Frequented the clip for some time...I would often run across comments with excerpts from "MelodicRock.com" posts.

Back when the news hit that Journey was hiring a Filipino vocalist found on YouTube, this forum
could at times resemble a staging area for every racist, dick-sucking piece of shit in America
who could get online. It's been riveting, how swiftly the retards tried to unfuck themselves, and
then act as if they never indulged their inner Uncle Tom.

How could I not check that shit out, or Gunbot's avatars?

I found this site about 1997??? wanting to find info on Perry and Journey... I read it here first regarding Augeri replacing Perry...

This was WAY before GOOGLE was even thought of... and you had to rely on NETSCAPE... if anyone here is OLD enough to remember that search engine... Before MR... the only place to find news about journey was at Steve Lakes fan site... this was about 1994 or 1995...regarding Lake's site.

Drew that begs to ask... how long has MR been around???

I had tickets to go to a Journey show in 2006 and was always reading up on them. When I saw a blurb on a website that Steve Augeri had fallen ill and Jeff Scott Soto had taken over the helm back in 2006, I googled JSS to see what he was all about. MelodicRock popped up, I bumped around the site, liked what I saw, and ended up finding the forums soon after. Riveting reading back then. I could say I was born in a crossfire hurricane.

I'm trying to remember how I found it, exactly... I'm pretty sure I was searching for sites trying to see what, if anything, SP was up to. I kind of re-discovered Journey/Perry mid-2006 and was kicking myself for not being more into it than I was "back in the day". I'd gone to the Journey/DL show that summer and I was really getting back into it, and I wanted to know what Perry was up to also, so I'd been reading various message boards and sites, etc. Pretty sure that's how I fell into this nest of insanity.

How cool though. I never expected to "meet" and MEET so many frickin' awesome people.
We're gonna have so much damn fun in May!!

Why is that? I've seen that written here before.....a couple of times in fact. I recall BJG posting something similar in another thread. Why are people afraid to join this site?

Not afraid to join, really - just leery of posting back then. It's a much easier place to hang out now than it used to be.
Far less drama and battling and unpleasantness, I think.
