Why is that? I've seen that written here before.....a couple of times in fact. I recall BJG posting something similar in another thread. Why are people afraid to join this site?

Not afraid to join, really - just leery of posting back then. It's a much easier place to hang out now than it used to be.
Far less drama and battling and unpleasantness, I think.

LOL - yeah, there were daily beatdowns. Major drama. Ahhh, the good ole days.

Back around '06 I was finally going to attend my first Journey concert. I was stoked to see Augeri who I've been a fan of and and watched the 2001 DVD numerous times. I heard he was having problems with his throat and it was getting REALLY close to my summer trip out to Cincy.

I was afraid the tour was going to be canceled so I went on Back Talk to get some info on what was going on. As I kept reading, all of these "melodic rock" posts kept popping up and people were upset of the "tapegate" incident. I had an idea what was going on but never knew exactly why or how or what was causing it. By the time the Journey/DL tour got here, Augeri was only a couple weeks out and Soto was freshly joined. So I finally clicked on the link to melodicrock and this board was BOOMING. I lurked for several months then finally registered during the huge debate of Augeri lippin' and Soto joining the tour. What a time to start posting, haha. It was mayhem around that time.

Exactly! It was scary to be new here back then And no, I wasn't afraid of Rockindeano, and I met him in SF, and actually he's responsible for my screen name too, so that was not the reason. I just knew no one and Im kind of shy anyway

and then you have and had the personal battles with each other over the years... DANG!!

but I guess thats what makes this such a cool place to post at during our days, the common ground for the reason we are here.
