Yeah, like nobody in Rock n Roll ever had a bad day before him. Look, he went on to redeem himself in spades throughout the 2009 concert season. Think anyone will give credit for that?

I will give him credit for sure. He sure as Hell sounds god. Powerful, strong, he definitely has the voice. As a front man though, I think he is extremely lacking. Jumping around doesn't make a good front man. He needs to work on this part of his game.

Agreed....he needs to work on it....he has really BIG shoes to fill.

Who's shoes? I don't think Perry was all that great as a front man either. Solid yes, but IMO, not great.

All he had to do was show up and bring the voice ...he was amazing!!

Thank YOU!!!

You fuckin' weird assed Loons start fingering yourselves as soon as Perry opened his mouth. The Wigglers were too fat to do that standing up. The folds of beef in their arms kept getting in the way of the vertical friction movement needed. So guess the Loons are better than the Wigglers.

Oh where to start with that^^^^^^MG he is all yours!

Sorry, LMAO!!!!
The wiggler remark was harsh!!

A Classic

While that certainly may be true to some degree, he also made sure he kept his obligation to perform at his charity concert. He's extremely committed to feeding the hungry and I can't blame the guy for trying to do both. He was sick, man, and I think he would have still been sick had he not done the charity show. It's just a cheap excuse to knock the guy. He doesn't drink, he doesn't do drugs, he's a fitness freak, won't drink anything cooler than room temperature and you're gonna knock his "priorities"? Try again.

No, it's a fact. He had no defenses built up to the allergens in this country, and they ate his ass up. My dad's new wife, who's also from the Philippines, is having the same problem.

During the Augeri years, Neal was definitely the star of the stage. There's no question about that.

True. But the point being after proving himself for two years, to hang on to this pregame show boggles my mind the hate SG has for Arnel.

I never got that sense and I saw about 20 shows. I think he was the star as far as talent goes, but I never saw him prancing around like he was the shit. In fact, a lot of people complained about him not moving enough.

Tough question. Come on, I wasn't at every show. I can tell you every guitar player gets that pissed off look on his face when he wants his power cranked up, and I have seen Schon do that a thousand times.....Toward the end of the Augeri era, I noticed a "different" look on Schon's face and a different attitude. He knew they were skating on thin ice..hoping there wouldn't be a recording screw up. Of course he was completely unaware that anything out of the ordinary was going on. He sure looks a lot more comfortable nowadays.

Yeah, actually it's the best damn excuse anyone can ever ask for. I've seen Arnel plenty of times live, got the privilege to shake his hand and at the time in '08, the dude looked ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED to the point of tears. He said he was under the weather and the time zones from coming to the states was not something he was used to. HELL, flying a couple states over had me HOWLING, just imagine flying across seas, coming from a native country that's not known for their great atmosphere. (I get a sore throat and can't hum fuckin 'Marry had a little lamb'. )

After all of the sickness, Arnel went on stage, with a damn scarf on and kicked major ass and didn't miss a note the whole damn night, cold and all, singing a GRUELING night to night catalog. Arnel's the type of person that would be the LAST person to feel sorry for themselves and it shows.

By the time of the Super Bowl, the guy was sick as a dog and if you can use your ears for once and actually listen to a boot compared to the Super Bowl, Arnel wasn't up to par and his sickness derailed him big time, which he acknowledged AND apologized for like he murdered somebody, which was unnecessary givin' the work hoarse that is the Journey touring schedule. I don't mean to polish AP's knob, but I'm a firm believer in givin' credit when credit's due, and judging by what the guy's been showing since he had the spotlight, how can you NOT give him the due he deserves even if you don't support the lineup or not?
