Even with all this that is happening with this song Perry still sits and does nothing.
JRNY would be on top of the world again right now if Perry was back in the band..
But nope still making empty promises,
Yea I will perform in scotland yea right Steve another lie.

When did he say he'll perform in Scotland?!?!

In the interview he said I would love to come to Scotland and perform
He said seriously I would.

Why make a bold face lie like that.?

He will never even set foot there .

What is wrong with you? He spoke at length of how he wanted to be a DJ as a child and at a very young age used to practice his timing. SP was invited to Scotland by the interviewer to GUEST DJ on a show where they have had other celebrities do the same, not sing. So before you go calling someone a liar, why don't you pay attention and get your facts straight?

Nope he said I would love to perform there
Not be a dj

He was invited to perform as a guest DJ, end of story. He did not say he was going to come and sing there.

He said perform there.
Not be a dj there

17 pages in a thread called"Steve Perry Interview on Planet Rock" and it didn't occur to you that an interview someone posted a link to after 14 frickin' pages was not "the interview"? We were discussing two different interviews! I found the Scotland interview and thought perhaps you were right, wondering why the Steve Perry forum was not on wildfire over the news that SP promised to perform in Scotland.

Then I listened to it and heard him say that he would love to perform in Scotland,"perhaps in the future". That is not a boldfaced lie! He did not promise or commit to a performance, but he was obviously sincere that if he ever chose to perform again "perhaps in the future", he would love to come to Scotland. Given the work he did with Clannad and his knowledge of Scottish artists, if he ever did decide to tour again, I don't doubt that he would go there.

It seems evident that even Steve Perry does not know whether he will ever perform in public again, as he cannot bring himself to close the door on the possibility. If he doesn't know what his own intentions are, no one has the right to call him a liar for saying he would love to perform again.

Yeah, a bunch of jokers who spit in the face of rock n roll by faking it for 2 to 3 years deserves to get recognition. The only way they get close to the Rock n Roll HOF is to play the local theater in Cleveland. NO WAY do they get in, never, ever.

Maybe but, who cares?

Fuck the Rock and Roll Hall of Lame. Grandmaster Flash is in there.

GET IT OUT! It's a joke.

Say what you want but i believe that there has NEVER been a song so universally loved as Dont Stop Believin is right now.

Sweet Home Alabama, Yesterday, Hey Jude, We Are The Champions are all GREAT GREAT songs but for the past 2-3 years no song has touched a chord with ALLLL facets of America as Dont Stop Believin.

P.S. By the way all the groups in the above songs are in the RRHOF.

I never saw that quote Dan. When did HH say that?

Who cares when and where he said it. Herbie is a bitter old guy who spouts off a lot of garbage. I don't give two shits whether he did an MR interview or not. The guy is slanted and bias, and a fucking blowhard. I used to think he was a rock n roll god of a manager, but if you think about it, he is most responsible for ruining the band at it's best, when he burned up his lead singer, the main cog in the wheel and the guy who made the band famous, like a wild fire sparked by the rubbing of Rosie Odonell's inner thighs. Gee, what a grand idea Herbert? Schedule Perry to sing 31 consecutive nights in a row on the Departure tour, singing basically operetta like vocals. Yes, he did, I have that schedule somewhere. Then he and Bill Graham, RIP, decided that the band needed to push on during the Escape tour, even when the band had said repeatedly that they were spent. It was all about money, which is fine, but had Herbert had some long range vision, he could have milked this train for another 10 or so years, and you wouldn't have a guy like Perry, standing up to him finally in 1986, burned out and voice toasted. Perry had a set of stones for doing this. You may have had another 2 or three albums and tours and the band could have retired at the top of the game, instead of taking 20 hour bus rides going to play 2,000 seat theaters and fairgrounds.

Bitter about what?!?! Nostrildamus threw him off of a sinking ship ... one that he intentionally detonated because he couldn't sing anymore after ROR. He did Herbert a favor. He let him move on and work with artists that could sing and wanted to work. Artists like Roxette ... who had 4 number one songs, 3 number two's and 2 others in the top 15 ... in just 2 years with Herbie!!! And they sold 60 million albums. I'm sure Herbert's really bitter that he couldn't stay in the Journey holding pattern. Like when Nostrildamus decided to stagger into The Bill Graham Tribute show blitzed, tuned the songs down enough steps to be legally considered a "flight" of stairs and forgot the fucking words.

March of 2008 in his interview with one Andrew J. Mc Niece.

"It's a muscle, it's something that has to be exercised and trained and to get to that level of conditioning its hard work. And you know I think Steve Perry's really tried. When he had a solo career and his solo tour he tried to do it. I've heard that he's gone to the greatest vocal teachers and got the best help that you can get and it's just not there anymore."

Uh, he did sing after that. about three years later in the FTLOSM tour. But definitely not great at the tribute.

Good Lord- Leave Perry alone ! Many critics here have never heard him sing live. He was the best ! I only wish I could have been at Mt Aire. I hear it was exceptional. All of you would flock to see anyting he did on a tour or purchase any new CD. SO SHUT UP ! You can't have it both ways ! As far as the silly R&RHOF have they inducted the Cowsills yet? Oops, I better not give them any ideas.

I got about .2 into that clip and had to shut it off.

I am gonna stay out of this arguement....only to say that Stevo777 has a great point.

(paraphrasing here) to be thankful for what SP has given us in the past. I will take that further by saying that it is a daily gift for me. I dont go one day, either at home or in the car or whatever, and not listen to at LEAST one Journey tune. In closing, i would also like to say that Journey deserves to be in the RORHOF and so does KISS. that and .99 cents will get you a cup of coffee. :)
