I remember watching The Von Erichs and The Fabulous Freebirds way back when.....I pretty much stopped watching wrestling in the 90's when it started becoming really lame :?

I'm sure you've seen a soap opera and probably liked one at a certain point in time. Maybe a T.V show? Wrestling is a story mixed in with top notch athletes that work together in telling a story in the ring to where they show a mixture of brute strength, agility, and athleticism to the point of danger to the body. I've ALWAYS had a respect for wrestlers and what they do is NOT easy.

They sell their body pretty harshly just to get a pop or cheer out of the thousands in attendance. Anyone can sit there and say it's fake and the story always is, but the bumps, broken bones, dislocated hips, neck injuries, knee replacements and missed aligned back ailment is certainly real. One single chair shot to the head can gash you open and 20 some stitches could follow. Also, concussions play a big part in wrestling which led to the deaths of many well known wrestlers today and of the past. Entertainment yes, but top notch athletes and workers as well.

Sure it's fake, the winner is predetermined, but the shit the wrestlers has to go through isn't.

And wrestling is fun cause it's so over the top. Wrestling had more balls than Ron Jeremy.

Another thing that is WAY overlooked that even though matches are pre-determined, the match itself isn't a script. They might talk about certain points of the match as far as finishers, but everything else is improvised to the point of where they must work together to put on a 30 min match of getting a feel of what to do and talk through it to each other of what they are going to do that might be coming next. They put trust in one another. Always was cool to me.

used to love watching all the different wrestling outfits such as the AWA,NWA,WWF,WCW,etc. through the years what kept it fresh and exciting was watching all the different companies compete so it never really got stale or lost its appeal.many great eras through the years too.loved the road warriors, the four horsemen, the midnight rockers, sting, lex luger, hulk, flair, savage, nash, etc. of course when time warner bought out turner and then put the WCW out of business it left only the WWE and ever since its been downhill.i hated when WCW went out because that was the it.competiton was good for the sport but vince mcmahon pretty much ruled the roost the past decade.
