Cinderella and Tesla are good live bands, but there is a lot of crap in that mix. I saw Cinderella in 2000 and they sounded fine. I have seen Tesla a few times more recently, the last being in 2005. Every festival everywhere is never going to please everyone with the entire lineup. There are some bands at MR2 that I don't necessarily care for, but I am looking forward to the possibility of getting into them after hearing their set. The same could be said at Rocklahoma. Did you see the package they offer for $2499? Are you kidding me...in these economical times?????

I know, but it just doesn't do him any good. He's alienated Def Leppard and Journey, and is now blasting Rocklahoma. That's just like saying that ZZ Top, Tesla, Buckcherry, Tesla, Cinderella, Godsmack and the rest of the bands suck (whether you think they do or not). And fans of those bands that might be thinking of going to MR Fest II might just decide to say "Hey, fuck you for dissing my band!" ... and not go. There's a collateral effect by word of mouth and fans are loyal to annual fests and bands. His statement should have read: "Rocklahoma announced their lineup today. While I think their lineup is very good, I also think that mine is better and packs a little more punch for your dollar and is much more melodic in nature. Hopefully, both concerts will do well and fans will enjoy both shows. -Andrew"

Rocklahoma has evolved. It's not a dying dinosaur. It'll survive. It's including young and old acts with cross-generational and cross-categorical fans, and exposes different generations to the other's music. That, in and of itself, is extremely smart. Andrew should take note of that.

I'm not a modern rock festival. Cinderella: dude can't sing; Tesla: play everywhere anyway; ZZ Top - Zzzzzzzz.....the rest = modern. It ain't an 80s rockfest anymore.

So it's okay for posters here to say things like Soto's fans could hold their convention in a phone booth and Perry's a malingerer with toasted pipes ad infinitum ad nauseum, but Andrew should do nothing but spout rainbows and unicorns?

Thats totally different. While Andrew is gonna get shit regardless of what he says anyways (and he is always trying to be fair),,, you have to understand that those who he may piss of like Saint John described, go by what ANDREW says, not what stevew2 and stockton2malone or Drfu say ;)

I'm not blasting Rocklahoma....I'm pointing out they are now a modern rock festival, while I remain a melodic rock show.

As for Def Leppard - give me a break, they fucked themselves well and truly there, I did not start that one. And Journey - well, their mgmt treat everyone like shit. They are arrogant shitheads. I have nothing against Journey and everyone single person in that organization knows where to find me.

I just won't be reaching out anytime soon due to mgmt's attitude.

And for the record, "alienating" both those groups doesn't seem to have affected me in any way. And I nearly had Viv Campbell at my show....just couldn't make schedules work.

He's a professional with a livelihood on the line. If he wants to threaten losing $$$ in his pocket that's certainly his business, but as a friend and avid fan of this site I figured it best to point out what I see as poor business acumen. Besides, we're opinionated posters with nothing to lose, unlike him. There's really no comaprison.
