I'd give the disc a second chance on Blu Ray even though Arnel's performance left a lot to be desired.

You know, considering that Arnel had major butterflies from being thrust into the spotlight in front of his countrymen, as I later learned, I think he did just fine. He must have really felt under the magnifying glass....much worse than in Chile. I can't imagine the emotional side of it for him. I thought much of the DVD was good and on some he was not at his best, but I understood. I'd buy the Blu Ray.

That's all fine and understandable, but it doesn't change the fact that I shelled out money for a performance I know was mediocre at best for Arnel.

However, perhaps the poor overall quality of the production makes it seem worse than it is to me... hence why I'd definitely be willing to give the BRD an honest shot.

That's true! Did you see his expression behind the stage when there had the huddle? He looked like he was about to puke! lol. He didn't fine but Neal was the bomb on those extended songs.

If they don't release it in Blu-Ray then all that 4hd red tech was just a waste of money. Even the guys who were there filming say on their own blog that the Wal-Mart standard release showcases none of the killer technology that went into the filming.

The next thing I spend money on that is Journey related is for a ticket to Schon's show At the HOB on Sunset. If he plays anything from Journey's first 3 albums, I'll be jazzed.

Yes gunbot, and I don't really get all the money spent on filming and all the hype on the filming if all that was made was a standard dvd. Then again few things this band does makes sense to me. :D

Oh I bet the next release always depends on the current release. In other words, why waste money on producing the next version if the first didn't sell well. However, do record everything as well as you can in case you ever want to use it.

And I'm not saying the the current hasn't sold. I'm just speculating that if it sells a lot, then there may be demand for another release. And eventually, household video reproduction may include the ultra-high def that in which this was recorded. That way, when the band is retired, they'll still have something else to put out...if anyone still wants it.

later~
