Ever hear of the geoid? No? Didn't think so....The geoid is the equipotential surface of the earth's gravitational field that approximates the mean sea surface. It is the core concept in the measurement of sea levels. Ever hear about glacio-hydro-isostatic modeling? Eustatic and tectonic effects on shoreline dynamics? Holocene sedimentary sequences? Intertidal foraminifera distributions? Carbon analysis of coastal paleoenvironments? Aminostratigraphy?

Before you wax poetic about sea levels, do some research on these topics.....

Scientists have withdrawn their claims of sea level changes due to Man Made Global Warming. If you want to talk about gravitational pull and so forth that's a different topic and has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion.

Can and will coastlines sometimes get blasted, sure.

If that cliff ever falls off over in the Canary Islands might there be a tsunami in Florida, yes.

Can an undersea earthquake cause a disruption in tidal flow, of course.

Can gravational pull and tide currents cause big waves that washes people off the shore, yes. Just did last week in California.

What does that have to do with Man Made Global Warming?

Jeesh, you are so blinded by your obsessive quest to convert any and all to your cult-like beliefs, that you fail to even ask yourself what side of the fence I am actually on!

re-read your final question to me, and ask yourself that question again.....

New Climate Agency Head Tried to Suppress Data, Critics Charge
By Ed Barnes
- FOXNews.com

Thomas Karl, the head of Obama's new Climate Change office has been criticized for trying to suppress contradictory scientific data on climate change.

The scientist who has been put in charge of the Commerce Department's new climate change office is coming under attack from both sides of the global warming debate over his handling of what they say is contradictory scientific data related to the subject.

Thomas Karl, 58, was appointed to oversee the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Climatic Data Center, an ambitious new office that will collect climate change data and disseminate it to businesses and communities.

Hey, Lie Finder...hope you enjoy this cut and paste job. Sorry the truth hurts so much. How are you going to chickenhawk your way out of this one?

The NOAA is reporting that combined land and ocean temperatures in January 2010 were the 4th warmest on record since 1880. The combined ocean and land global temperature was 38.08 degrees last month. That's +1.08 degrees Fahrenheit.

•2009 Global land and ocean annual surface temperatures tied with 2006 as the fifth warmest year on record, at 0.56°C (1.01°F) above the 20th century average.

•The 2000-2009 decade is the warmest on record, with an average global surface temperature of 0.54°C (0.96°F) above the 20th century average. This shattered the 1990s value of 0.36°C (0.65°F).

So 2010 is off to another top 5 start, as we still wait for a below average year globally. There has not been one cooler than average year globally in a quarter of a century, since 1984.

Globally 9 of the past 10 years are in the top 10 warmest years on record. In fact, the past 9 years in a row are among the top 10 warmest years on record since 1880. This is remarkable and statistically highly unlikely in a system that is showing only natural variability

Put that in your corn cob pipe and smoke it.

Oh, and there's this, too...

Nairobi, 21 January 2010 - The last assessment on glacier melt by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) shows that the average annual melting rate of glaciers doubled after the turn of the millennium.
The report, 'Global Glacier Changes: Facts and Figures', was published by UNEP and WGMS in September 2008. It highlights global trends in glacier retreat and shows that record losses were posted in 2006 for a key network of reference sites.

The previous record loss in the year 1998 was already exceeded three times in the years 2003, 2004 and 2006, with the losses in 2004 and 2006 being almost twice as high as the previous 1998 record loss.

The global average annual mass loss of more than half a metre during the decade of 1996 to 2005 represents twice the ice loss of the previous decade (1986-95), and over four times the rate of the decade from 1976 to 1985. Early measurements indicate strong ice losses as early as the 1940s and 1950s, followed by a moderate ice loss between 1966 and 1985, and accelerating ice losses until present.

Overall, the 2008 report provided mounting evidence that climate change is triggering a shrinking and thinning of many glaciers worldwide, which may eventually put at risk water supplies for hundreds of millions of people.

Not sure what you mean by religion having Government pull.

Go ahead and bash religion all you want. The people who give on Sunday at church are doing so of their own free will, and not having it forced out of thier wallets like these Climate Treaties would do. Big difference.

Are you saying that the way some people believe in climate change is not like having religious faith?

HUH??? the reason we are challenging climate change or global warming... is while the people who are making the policy
flies around in private jets... fancey and GAS GUSSLING SUVS... live in 5000 acre mansions using 15x more energy than the rest of us.... while THEY LECTURE US THE POISON of it all... they are doing what??? telling us we cant live that way, travel that way, even breathe that way... just saying... THATS THE WHOLE DAMN FUCKING PROBLEM I HAVE ON IT AND WHY YOU SHOULD TOO...

And, religious zealots go about having affairs, having their way with 'alter boys', saying they are going to die so you better send them money. Not too different...in fact, it is worse since the hypocrisy directly affects people.

You Can Call Him Al ... But Al Won't Call You Back

Al Gore won a Nobel Prize and an Oscar for his film, An Inconvenient Truth. But in the last three months, as global warming has gone from a scientific near-certitude to the subject of satire, Gore -- the public face of global warming -- has been mum on the topic.

So, it's Gore's fault that these parents were psychopaths? I mean, I don't even want Evil Dick Cheney to rot in hell, and he's directly responsible for the deaths of more than 50,000 innocent Iraqui civilians.

Baby girl survives after being shot in the chest in parents' 'global warming suicide pact'

By Gerard Couzens
Last updated at 2:48 PM on 01st March 2010

A seven-month-old baby girl survived three days alone with a bullet in her chest beside the bodies of her parents and toddler brother.

Argentines Francisco Lotero, 56, and Miriam Coletti, 23, shot their children before killing themselves after making an apparent suicide pact over fears about global warming.

Their son Francisco, two, died instantly after being hit in the back.

But their unnamed daughter cheated death after the bullet from her dad's handgun missed her vital organs.

Paramedics rushed her to hospital covered in blood when police alerted by worried neighbours discovered the massacre three days later.

The youngster is recovering in hospital in the town of Goya in the northern Argentine province of Corrientes, where doctors say she is out of danger.

Her parents said they feared the effects of global warming in a suicide note discovered by police.

Gore's rediculous comment about more snow this year because of more evaporation in the ocean is nuts. Trying to defend Gore is worse than me trying to defend Cheney.

This is just like predictions the past few years of all the killer hurricanes that were going to occur because of GW...that didn't. Just wait though. Even though we are probably getting about due for a big hurricane season...when it occurs many will be claiming it is due to GW. You heard it here first.

You're extrapolating falsehoods from sub-theories that predicted things hypothetically, using language such as "could" and "likely will". You're nitpicking here and there without seeing the whole picture, and you're using your typical GOP weapon of mass distraction to avoid having to address the whole truth, under which your rejectionist theories are wholly buried.

http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2006-03/uoca-ais022806.php

Oh, and Hoagiepete...or should I say Dr. Hoagiepete...the evaporation leading to increased snow theory is FULLY supported and is irrefutable scientific fact. Put down the crack pipe.

Obama never applauded the act of war, especially in Iraq. In fact, he was correct when he voted "no" on the war. He sends kids now because it's a necessary evil, brought on by your Old Testament guys, you know, the lying and deceiving motherfuckers who never served a single day in the active United States Military, yet started a war on a country that did nothing wrong to us, like it was a playstation game. Hahaha, it's funny stuff, start a war, but hey, their Old Testament guys so that makes it ok.. If that is what the Old Testament is all about, then screw that book.
