Each show by Journey is a copyrighted to prevent other people from making money on their name and songs. They want their pound of flesh from everything, if they could they would not even allow the word journey to be used without paying them.

Because they(Journey) are ridiculously stupid. They need to allow everything they have done to get out there and not worry about "stopping" people. They can use all the exposure they can get. Hell, the biggest bands in the world allow their stuff to be used, why wouldn't Journey? U2, Springsteen, Tom Petty and Dave Mathews openly encourage bootlegging, dvd/tape sharing etc etc. Not Journey. Ask yourself why? What is the fucking harm? It's not like it will dampen sales or anything. Neal should actively open a website for bootlegging/sharing. Call it whatever you like, but just do it. Say openly on the top of the page, "For all Journey fans to share and enjoy the live Journey experience. All we ask is that you share and not sell." Can you imagine the seeders and leechers? They would multiply by hundreds. Twittering from Schon is a good start, but that's an easy out bullshit way. Stuff like this idea, a DVD/CD sharing site, linked to the official page would be a killer for them. God knows they have enough boots out there. You could leak a few out to friends of the band and hey would just multiply.

On second thought, never mind. Lula just answered my question as to why. She said the "lipping" thing is probably why they don't. Makes perfect sense.

I reckon so. Here I wrote many reasons as to why they are stupid, and they most definitely are, but the lipping thing is really coming back to bite them in the ass, as it should.

Nobody cares about that, Dean. They could put it on every major news channel and loop it non-stop for a fucking week. Wouldn't matter. Nobody cares about shit that's more than a week or month old. And they certainly wouldn't give a shit about a band that's just a trip down memory lane for the vast majority a night or two a year.

No you're not because you're right. So what? No new music from 80's bands makes the airwaves these days.

I thin Journey themselves care about it. Look, if they aren't afraid of it, why not release the Dallas DVD? Why not start up a bootlegging site? Why are they always ignoring the past 6 years? Dan I know you are a number one fan, but it is HUGE and you know it. The casual fan may no know it either and that's cool. But the fact that they did it and they are trying to stay away from that era is evident. It's not a matter of keeping score anymore with TG. I just think you and your side down play it, and say nobody cares, but in reality, other artists do know, and that has to be embarrassing to Neal and Jon and Valory. I know I would be embarrassed, especially if my peers found out about it. Cleveland definitely knows about it, and before everyone comes in and pounces on me saying the RNRHOF is horseshit, I do know Neal and Valory want very much to be in there= Neal told me face to face, and Valory told the street crowd in LA during the WOF ceremony. Look, is is no about me getting a leg up on JRNY about this old topic. I just think there was stuff they could have released and didn't, and it's directly due to the Lipping.

I don't even hear anything on the radio from TBF, except WYLAW, and not even that song all that often. It's from the early hits, like all '80s bands, like you say. Even U2 wasn't happy about not getting much airplay on their last CD and they're still the original members and a HUGE band.

I just don't think there's any demand for a Dallas DVD with Augeri. How many people are gonna buy it ... a thousand? Hardly worth the effort.

Agreed but people here will swear up and down that AP is the second coming....if he was he would be on the radio.

So What?? Well it is still up for major discussion...and well I think you and I both know it.

Oh and I would love to hear it again...I am right!! I need a fucking damn calendar!!

It's all speculation and all there is to really speculate about is how big music made with Arnel on lead vox would have done back then. I'm guessing that off of Revelation After All These Years would have probably been a top 5 song, Where Did I Lose Your Love would have cracked the top 40 and Never Walk Away would have cracked the top 20.

I guess...I still think that there is way too much of a connection that Perry=Journey for people who are outside of this bubble it's just the way it is.

The concerts now are for people who want to go back and have a trip down memory lane. They come close as they can without the real thing. As for the next album I hope it blows me and everyone else away...I would love the feeling of hearing Escape for the first time again as I have not felt that feeling since!

Oh I agree. They wouldn't put it out now especially with a new solid replacement singer. Back then though, in 2007, I would have thought they would. Perhaps that's why you won't see anything Perry/JRNY released now. They don't want to take away from Pineda and that is actually smart on their part.

Yet Dan, they DO know about it and it does bother them.
