The website was a huge hit. By 2007, a million unique visitors a month were visiting the site. More, Coelho said that people were lured into buying the physical books, too.

I'm guessing that it would work for Journey too. It's the 21st century, they should adapt.
As for the lipping issue, I really don't think it would matter - people would be happy to have access to all that live material, lipped or not.

We all steal from the internet...myself included. We've all downloaded songs & video's not thinking that this is not our creative property & that the owner is entitled to be compensated. Heck these days its about a dollar a song which is a bargain for all the countless hours of heart & soul that a artist puts into his creations. Let's admit the internet is a treasure chest. Most of us stay in that gray area that its just for private use & that we are not going to go around taking credit & profiting from anothers creative property.

So where do we go from here.
The old music industry is gone the ways of the dinosaurs, I have known so many people lose there jobs. What's seemed to hold on to reality is copyright but the situation is still dire, mostly uninforcible or at least not worth the legal costs involved on a case by case basis.

That may make it the way it is but I won't agree its right.
Let's try not to forget that we are all here because we love Journey & are passionate about music in general. Music is responsible for breaking down many barriers in this world & uniting many people from all walks of life. I don't know what its like to be hungry or homeless but I have known many musicans to give up everything to feed there deep desire to indulge in the luxury of their passion for music. Music is a blessing which takes us to another place & for 3 minutes it paints our world with the gift of song.

This is definitely one of the more bizarre threads I think I've ever had the bittersweet experience of following. It has left me bewildered. I think I know what I just read, but I'm not sure. And I'm also not sure if I want to go back and re-read it.

I will add though that I don't think anyone has condoned piracy. I think what I read was how some artists have dealt with it...and parallel theories on how other artists could deal with it. This, all woven around a few fire fights.

I think what we witnessed though could have been a first - a double, perhaps triple, highjacking.
