Question about stress

Postby TRAGChick » Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:43 am

Hey, all.....

I've been going thru some situations lately; been under a lot of stress.
I had to put myself on "autopilot" and put the blinders on, so to speak, just to get through the days.

I am no longer dealing with those situations....but now, that I have a chance to RELAX, I've been in a ton of pain! :x
The muscles in my back, arms, and legs are absolutely KILLING me!!

I haven't had a chance to get to my Dance Class in a few weeks, due to the Mixing Sessions of our new CD ~ I've GOT TO get back there! I know that exercise is the best thing for this, etc....

So, my question is:

 Is this a normal reaction? Is the stress kind of "working its way out"....or something.....?

Well, with stress you often don't eat/drink, sleep, or exercise right. So that can certainly contribute to muscle soreness - dehydration, lack of vitamins, lack of sleep etc. But, stress itself can also cause physical/muscular problems, especially in your back. I'd see a good massage therapist first thing and see how you feel after that. Try and do some stretches and make sure to drink some fluids too.

Hey there....thanks for your answer. 8)

Well, since I've been able to relax, I have been eating well: salads, vegetables, chicken, etc....

Also - my sleep situation - good Lord! I've been going to sleep at approx. 9:00; waking up at 8:30...

I've been drinking a ton of water & Gatorade.....

So yeah; I am taking care of myself, right?
So what the heck's going on?? :?

I'm not a doctor... but even if one's doing all those things right as you are, if you're really feeling serious stress it can still cause physical symptoms. I don't get stressed to the point of panic, but I know when I get really bogged down, I really feel it in my back more than anywhere, which is a common area I think. Seriously, you might just need a good professional massotherapist. Around here, a great one can be had for $60/hr. It's worth it if you feel like crap. A little light exercise might help - nothing too strenuous to make you more sore though, obviously.

If you smoke; stop it. If you don't work out; start doing it.

Yoga is real good if you stress a lot..

Problem solved :)

So does booze technically, but if you're sore, you don't want to be dehydrating yourself. When my back starts hurting, getting drunk only makes me feel worse. That's not to say I don't do it, but hey, do as I say, not as I do

YES. Get a proper massage. I've had similar things recently and my wife's an LMP. She fixed me up before a couple of shows and it worked wonders.

You are a lucky man Bryan. I wish I had the funds to get a weekly professional massage. I'm used to being very active and now that I have to sit more for longer periods of time, I'm prone to getting tight. That'd do wonders for me!

Dude, true story. I was sitting in the house, all sore, tensed up, lazy, viewing free internet porn as always. Boom, in came my prescriptions..I threw down about 6 percs and a few oxy's and in 45 minutes, I had the house cleaned immaculately, and was headed to the garage, where I cleaned that motherfucker up as well. Ok, so after 3 hours, percs wearing off...what to do? Pop 6 more, again, I am on fire. I take off to go wash the car. Once there, I ended up helping this Cougar lady wash hers,; I was all chatty and shit. Anyway, I ended up with my sled so fucking clean, it looked brand new. Came home, stilll flying high, and cooked a 5 course meal, and then, even cleaned the fuckin dishes. There is no job too big for percs and oxy's.

I HATE asking her to do it. I'll only ask if I'm just wrecked. It really helps loosen up my throat too. My neck muscles get pretty tensed out.

Dang Deano, I'll start calling you Rush!
;)

Go for it. I just wish I had his scratch to buy even more. If we dropped Percs over Iraq, the war would be over in 72 hours. Everyone would be cleaning up and singing in harmony. Trust me on this. I should lob an email to my boy Barack and let him know about this relatively inexpensive way to end this conflict peacefully and quickly.

Oh fuck that.

Pop a handful of percocets on top of a few oxycontins and then, you're problem is solved. Works like magic for me.

Only if you snort them and then summarily do a shot of Jack and swig a beer

Then I popped 6 more , got on MR and posted in the Obama thread and threw few f-bombs left and right, before I woke up and realized this was all a wild dream ,,, House still was a mess, so was the garage and when I looked outside, what seemed like a Cougar lady was the mail man and his shitty mail truck,,,,

YES. Get a proper massage. I've had similar things recently and my wife's an LMP. She fixed me up before a couple of shows and it worked wonders.

OH THANK GOD!

Thanks....going to make an appointment.
