What good is a pass rusher when the secondary is leaving the middle of the field WIDE OPEN from the sound of go? Teams were getting rid of the ball so fast against NE that Lawrence Taylor wouldn't of provided no help. No way Bellichick would of spent THAT kind of dough on an aging Peppers to fit him in his defense as a lone pass rusher. They got more problems to take care of, like the Secondary and developing solid, young backers.

That's all they were missing? LOL, their defense was awful, and while a pass rusher would definitely help, you need a helluva lot more than just that. Your secondary is old and tired. When your head coach decides to go for it 4th and 1 on your own 30 late in the 4th, you know your defense sucks....He knew punting that ball away would just delay the inevitable.

Yup, come on Sean, be real here, not a fanboy. Their defense was terrible, Randy Moss is both on the far wrong side of 30 and the wrong side of giving a shit, Brady's best days MAY be behind him (remains to be seen - iffy sample last season), and their running game SUCKS. They are more than a piece away from getting back to dominance at this point.

Seriously, NE could finish behind the Jets and the Dolphins. I can't see them in the playoffs.

Well, for me, as Tom Brady goes, so goes the Pats. I'm not sure what he's capable of any more over the course of a whole season. But, Welker is still a nasty weapon.

To me, it just seems like they've all gotten older together from Belichick to Brady... less inspired and not as fresh. There's dynasty teams and then there are dynasty organizations... as much as it pains me to credit Boston and Shittsburgh, the Steelers and Celtics belong to the latter category and the Pats of the 00s belong to the former. A great team for several years, to be sure, but I can see some significant pain in the Pats' fans near future.

Depends how quick they could recover with a mediocre defense that suddenly doesn't compliment the Pats 50 + scoring offense. The Jets and Dolphins are slowly on the uprise, and with Cromartie now along side Revis, defensive football in N.Y is going to be daunted and a complete nightmare. Sanchez showed major poise as a rookie and he is now entering his 2nd season, trying to avoid a sophomore slump. I always liked Sanchez, who has a booming o-line and running game behind them if they re-sign Jones.

Esp. givin' his wishy washy nature of shifting & pivoting with his lower half of his body. Welker plays low to the ground and his knee could take abrupt beating because of it.

Joke is right, although I am sure he could help them, but at what cost? He is a cancer, a headache. He drops a ton of passes as well. And screw what FF thinks. He is busy copying and pasting from Fox News.

Carson Palmer seemed to age a year per week last year. That's a huge concern for any Bengals fan. The guy fucking flat-out sucked worse than Derek Anderson in the latter half of the season. Yes, losing Chris Henry was big for the team, but I don't care who the receivers are, he threw a lot of shit passes too high or over/underthrown. The Jets game was fuckin ugly. Yes, the D had something to do with some of them, but not all of them.

Him and Ocho-stinko? What a laugh, a complete circus that Cincy always was and always will be. Who would be #1? Who would the majority of the offense be tapered around as far as the passing game? Deep balls? Intermediate? Talk about fireworks. With Marvin Lewis on his last legs in Cinci, I wouldn't be surprised to see them push hard for T.O. That would be a treat to watch Cinci crash and burn like they are usually destined to.

Yes it is. Losing Chris Henry, Odom, and that goofball Maulauga (sp?) really hurt them last year. Benson was also never the same once he got injured. Make no mistake about it - through the first half of the year, they looked downright tough and looked to have the clutch factor that all eventual Super Bowl champs/finalists seem to have (ex: Both Pittsburgh games, especially the first one). The wheels started coming off in the second Ravens win, where they looked great for a half and then their offense just totally withered, never to be heard from again the whole year.

I think you need to go back to the tape and review that 2nd game against Pittsburgh if you thought that was a Super Bowl clutch factor in favor of Cinci. As bad as Pittsburgh played, it was pretty much a stalemate with both teams as far as defensively AND offensively. There were like 15 FG's between each team and the only separation of power came on a special teams touchdown, which was the only touchdown of the game.

Cincy HARDLY looked like a Super Bowl contender against the Steelers that day. Their offense was inept as ever. I'm still trying to figure out which offense was worse that day. That's what you get when two mediocre teams play each other on a short week. That was the Steelers loss #1 of 5 straight.

Rumors of the Patriots' demise have been greatly exaggerated.

They have six of the top 54 picks in the draft, and will definitely wind up with at least a couple of high-profile free agents...rumors persist about Thomas Jones and Brandon Marshall. We can address the pass rush and secondary in the draft - as long as we can get at least one good OLB and retain Bodden, the Pats will win the division and win at least 11 games.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

I don't know who these Steelers are, but they are going nuts all of a sudden in free agency. All of a sudden, we got some REMARKABLE depth and fantastic players that fit us to a TEE. We managed to re-sign Ryan Clark after he was THIS close in signing with Miami, we signed S Will Allen of the bucs and WR Arnaz Battle from SF, a promising young player.

The big signings today were Clark, and the return of Antwaan Randle El, who would be used as a major role in our dangerous slot position, as well as finally a dangerous punt returner, something we missed since his departure. Great moves by Pittsburgh, which is shocking in F.A. I'm pleased.

You're gonna need Randle El to play some Q too after Rapistberger gets suspended and hopefully does a little time.

Rapistberger. Good one. Steelers will be the first team to win the Superbowl with a receiver at the helm. Did you see that pass to Ward in '40? Fuckin money. Ward can play some Q too. We'll be fine, they'll hold the fort down once this sleaze bag gets her money.

Big Ben's Night Out In "Millyvegas": What The Bartenders Saw

Questions swirl around the night that led to sexual assault charges against Ben Roethlisberger. Fellow bargoers and bartenders offer accounts of binge drinking in a sexually charged atmosphere, and their takes on what really went down.

During the offseason, Roethlisberger lives in in Greensboro, Ga. On Thursday night into Friday morning, he and his entourage went barhopping in nearby Milledgeville, nicknamed "Millyvegas" because of the many bars catering to students from the adjacent Georgia College & State University campus.

Roethlisberger's pub crawl went on for at least three-and-a-half hours, so it's doubtful any of the parties who were engaged in postgame analysis on Facebook saw everything that occurred that night. But their collected accounts paint a fairly consistent picture of a debauched night out.

Roethlisberger's crew stopped at a few local watering holes, including Velvet Elvis, Capital City, Amici Cafe, The Brick, and the site of the alleged incident, Buffington's. His group is said to have included women from several GCSU sororities. Before news of the assault charges broke, a local bartender posted a status update saying, "ben roethlisberger was here last night hanging out at the bars in Milledgeville... he was molested by girls everywhere he went." Photos later surfaced, showing Roethlisberger out and about in Milledgeville posing with an array of young ladies at his side.

The bar staff, who are all listed as GCSU students on Facebook, were clearly excited to have a star athlete partying in their midst Almost Famous-style. A bartender who said he served Roethlisberger told us:

"He was as nice as any athlete that I have ever met. People were all over him, guys and girls. His body guards kept some people away to let him have a good time. This situation is sad and I feel for the guy. He was out having a good time just like everybody else and now this is blowing up."

According to Facebook postings from a different local bartender who joined in the discussion of Roethlisberger's night on the town, the QB was drinking "a lot" of "something with patron in it... like patron pineapple and cran." Another Milledgeville bargoer teased Roethlisberger for drinking girly drinks and possibly getting it on in the bar toilet with an update that said, "drank big ben's drink. it was a sex on the beach...what a fag, but it should of been a sex in the bathroom drink."

Friday, as news of the assault charges broke, one of the Milledgeville bartenders said the charges against Roethlisberger were "bullshit" and that "she was all over him that night.... wonder why he pursued??? she saw $$$ signs."

Their claims about his accuser can be called into question because she has only been identified by police as a 20-year-old GCSU sophomore, despite photos circulating claiming to be of her and the QB.

We can't say for sure what happened that night, but it's obvious that this is shaping up to be one of those ugly "he said she said" questions of consent that often seems to arise from the mix of alcohol, athletes, and young women. Sorority bars without a driver's license scanner and a stack of consent waivers are just bad places to be for a pro athlete. You'd think a star like Roethlisberger, with his previous assault charge and his team of handlers, would have learned to avoid this type of situation by now.

Clearly, what happens in "Millyvegas" doesn't stay in "Millyvegas."

At best, the guy's a fucking buffoon who is using up his offseason get out of jail free cards. Seriously man, you're 28, go to a bar where the average age is at least 23, not a fuckin college bar in light of the Vegas accusations. What a buffoon.

That's hilarious he was drinking fag drinks

Not surprisingly, here comes RedJoe13, defending Ben Rapistberger, while at the same time, looks the other way when his favourite band commits musical larceny.

Guilty!!!!

I like blogs too, but this is why actual news sources scoff at them.

"According to facebook postings, rothlisberger...."

Not surprisingly, here comes RedJoe13, defending Ben Rapistberger, while at the same time, looks the other way when his favourite band commits musical larceny.

AND not suprisingly, here comes a blogger citing a blog that cites facebook postings of 21-year-olds damning the guy. I have no stake, I hate the Stillas and don;t care about Big Ben.

Just like the 911 thread. A blog cited a rumor of an AMD and you rubber stamp it as "Fact To Be Debunked By You Cons."

A blog implies Karl Rove murderd more people than the Unabomber and you want to send that to The Library Of Congress and have it certified as "Ample Evidence That Rove Is A Murder."
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001
"I looked at Neal, and I just saw a guy who really wants his band back"-JCain 2/01
