You really do live on a planet of your own, don't you?

Reality check: It doesn't take a "group" to discuss a topic with you.
It only looks that way to you because you have this flair for ticking everyone off all at once.

It's y'all's problem if you can't keep your emotions in check, not mine. I'm cool. 8) Since when are you and your little group "everyone"? Anyway.. I also am completely out of time to waste on here for real....so have fun as I know you'll keep talking about someone even if they not here to answer ( as you are doing) ..because thats just the type of folks you are. It's a cost-benefit analysis. How much bandwith does her blabbering waste versus how much amusement and laughter does it give us and likely Andrew as well? Even at her most loquacious, I imagine the latter still outweighs the former

Good God, still going. Unbelievable, and Dan is scheduled to arrive shortly. This is going to be epic. Phyliss is going to wish she was starring in the Hurt Locker 2 This Time it's Live!, rather than be subjected to the online ass raping she is about to receive. HAHAHAHA

Many people have started the path to their dreams with little to nothing to begin with as well as care for their responsibilities. For one example here....Jeremy probably could be making a more stable living if he had stayed in a comfort zone in the business world but he choose to go with his passion and sing full time instead. Is it risky? Sure, but there are risks in everything, even in what is perceived as less risky. I also think that If JSS was more about money then following his heart he probably would have made diffrent chioces along the way and woul be more well known in the states, maybe. Perry could have kept plugging along instead of "retiring" and kept more in the spotlight but he opted out. It's all about choices and what someone is willing to do and what they are willing to do without to make them.

Are you KIDDING me? Risk is something you can take when you are single or have no children. I think Andrew is doing a great job being a support to his family from what I can see and he should do whatever he can with his "day job" to support his possible night job dreams. Which is something lots of musicians do. Does that make the ones with the day jobs lesser musicians? No. It means they need the means to follow their dreams. It really is no ones business not even mine, and definitely not yours how Andrew decides to live his life and support his family. YOU are the one who suggested we don't care about him if we aren't encouraging his dreams the way YOU are. What a crock!

Jeremey and others who have families have sometimes went for their dreams so I guess you consider that irresponsible then. I disagree that people who have done so with families have been irresponsible in that choice. Sure if someone fails to realize what they set out for some may consider it a failure and a bad desicion with hindsight but there have been many accomplishments by people throughout history of people who didn't let naysayers stand in their way.

At least you actually turned this to a discussion instead of only childish namecalling. It's actually an interesting discussion we've began but I do have to go so others can take up this debate if they wish. Have a good one. 8)

By the way, just as the first Fest proved to be this one, even if successful and generates some profit, will be just a bandage and not a long term solution so hopefully Andrew will keep other options in mind and work at them as an insurance policy for the future.

No, don't put words in my mouth. I never said Jeremey was irresponsible. Actually, if you know Jeremey's history he had a day job for YEARS before he took that risk. And I don't know Jeremey's situation. I don't know what financial shape he was in when he took that leap and what shape Andrew is in, nor do I care since it's NONE of my business. I think everyone makes choices and they do the best they can with the means they have to support thier families and only they can know what risks are worth it. And you are talking about Andrew and writing which is about as difficult if not more so for making a career and earning money to pay those monthly bills. I bet many writers do other things besides their passion.

I really think if we care about Andrew we will encourage him and do the best we can to help him with his ventures on something that is important to him, especially when it's something we will all enjoy. If he believes in MRfest, then so do I 8)

I thought Jeremey said with his job situation not as secure as it once was b/c of the economic climate he decided to take advantage of the resurgance of Journey music and make this his full-time job, and said the move prove to be a good move b/c of what happened with his job or company. I can't remember what exactly he said. I feel he was very much thinking of the financial security of his family when he made the move and was also able to do something he loved. He can elaborate or correct me if I'm offbase. I'm only talking from memory of what I remember.

Yeah, I'm sure he took into account the financial security. I mean ANYONE would when they have a family! No one leaps blindly! Well, maybe some would obviously, or someone here. But to me that's what would be irresponsible. Someone not making a sound and thought out decision with a realisitic plan. It seems to me that Jeremey did that.

WHOA. You are WAY off base.

Firstly, Phallus had NO business talking about Jeremey, Jeff or Perry. That was asinine, to say the least. However, Jana, for you to suggest Jeremey went to full time singing in Frontiers based on the resurgence of Journey music is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on here, no offense. Seriously, you think Journey's "resurgence" created a job for someone? Come on now.

No no no, don't shut up, but I can see it now....."Today President Obama hailed the new economic numbers out today from the OMB. Unemployment dropped .5% based mainly on the fact that Journey released a new album. The slew of new Journey tribute bands grew exponentially."

You're a good egg Jana, but the myopia you see or don't see with Journey is a bit "out there."

But not to worry, your unbiased, clear objectivity on Journey always brings me back down to earth, Deano.

BTW, I never meant resurgence b/c of Arnel and new album. I meant resurgence b/c of DSB/Sopranos, etc. and 80s music in general.

Phyllis, if there was a way for me to open your skull (preferably with an axe) and scoop out the shit inside of it, I don't think you'd have enough material to fill a fucking M&M. You're about as wanted around here as Ted Bundy at a sorority party. You're completely useless to this planet. If O.J. Saint John my friend,,
she is not worth your while,,, she is a waste of space,,,, It bothers me that someone ( a nobody like here) would have the guts to come to a place where we all try to have fun and proudly announce that she will NOT support Andrew and his ideas (oh but she wishes him well),,,,

I dont see how this witch contributes to this site in any way, shape or form,,,,, Do you Andrew??

You're about as wanted around here as Ted Bundy at a sorority party. You're completely useless to this planet. If O.J. Simpson had a load of his "juice" screaming down your throat I'd feel sorry for the little bastards as they entered the depths of hell. The next positive thing you hear hurled your way will probably be applause at your funeral. But at least it's something for both of us to look forward to.

Good Fucking Lord, and here I thought Springsteen wrote well. This is absolute magic. I am roaring with laughter.

PS, my neighbour just ran over and asked if everything was ok.

Phyllis, if there was a way for me to open your skull (preferably with an axe) and scoop out the shit inside of it, I don't think you'd have enough material to fill a fucking M&M. Phyllis - your post is perhaps misguided and poorly worded, but let me address it briefly.

You are absolutely correct in the fact I want to continue my writing and working towards the ideas I have, I remain very passionate about this. But the stark reality is that this business is in the shitter.
There is less money in the scene now than at any time previous in the 13 years I have been doing this. I slide backwards little by little each and every month and have done so for the last 12 months - coinciding with the worst 12 months of my life health wise.

I wasn't sure I was up for organizing another show...still hopeful I can make it thru unscathed...but the die hard supportes of this scene (including the family on this board) were calling for one and the fact is that such a bold move is the ONLY way I could ever hope to raise enough capital to get out of trouble.
No one else is going to suddenly appear with a wad of cash to bring to the site/business.

So I take cances to make my own luck. Will it pay off? Right now maybe not....but perhaps. And if it does, you'll have another 12 months of guaranteed posting time to annoy the absolute shit out of everyone else.

If not...well, you'll brobably have to find another unsuspecting family of message board posters to bring your ever joyous message to.

Right now you'll excuse me while I go and try and round up some sponsorship support for MelodicRockFest 2 - the biggest and best melodic rock festival anywhere in 2010.
