I didn't think he should put on another MRFest to begin with as I've thought from the start it won't be as successful as he needs it to be. I think he should move on with his writing and other things he wants to do and let all this go....just my opinion...but I wish him well with it and in no way do I feel others should not support him in this venture and/or support this site if they so choose.
Phyllis - your post is perhaps misguided and poorly worded, but let me address it briefly.
You are absolutely correct in the fact I want to continue my writing and working towards the ideas I have, I remain very passionate about this. But
the stark reality is that this business is in the shitter. There is less money in the scene now than at any time previous in the 13 years I have been doing this. I slide backwards little by little each and every month and have done so for the last 12 months - coinciding with the worst 12 months of my life health wise.
I wasn't sure I was up for organizing another show...still hopeful I can make it thru unscathed...but the die hard supportes of this scene (including the family on this board) were calling for one and the fact is that such a bold move is the ONLY way I could ever hope to raise enough capital to get out of trouble.
No one else is going to suddenly appear with a wad of cash to bring to the site/business.
So I take cances to make my own luck. Will it pay off? Right now maybe not....but perhaps. And if it does, you'll have another 12 months of guaranteed posting time to annoy the absolute shit out of everyone else.
If not...well, you'll brobably have to find another unsuspecting family of message board posters to bring your ever joyous message to.
Right now you'll excuse me while I go and try and round up some sponsorship support for MelodicRockFest 2 - the biggest and best melodic rock festival anywhere in 2010.
What I highlighted is exactly to my point. This business is fading fast so it would be prudent to look to other options and not just rely on a concert as some here seem to think you can. I'm not saying you haven't been I was just making the point that it would be wise to look further ahead instead of only this concert and to move on elsewhere before this waterhole dries up completely. Hopefully the concert will squeeze out enough to survive on until you find another path and not cost you more resources instead.
Regardless of you once again ignoring the unnecessary personal attacks in this thread and in others over time ( which is why, I think there are only a handful of people who regularly post here any more and even perhaps why some musicians don't want anything to do with a place with so much negativity allowed too, as I have heard a few say) and regardless of leveling your own insults on top of that...I still wish you well. Good luck with the show, I hope you do more then just break even this time. Peace out.
So since it's a shitty business you find it best for you not to donate to Andrew and his site , yet you fucking claim that you get the rights to voice your fucking opinion ?!
And once again using that victim card again ?!?!
If you don't find Andrews hard work and his site and his idea good enough to donate , while at the same time you complain about gang mentality and abuse from us , plus you say since Andrew doesn't moderate this place well hence musicians shying away from here , may I ask why the fuck you keep coming back to this place.
Andrew ,
I am in no position to tell you what to do on your board. But you have witnessed over and over how this witch gets threads derailed and tries to turn something as thoughtful as donation to your site into " look at me ,, I'm the victim. Everyone is too dumb to understand me. I'm misunderstood" shit once again , even your patience shouldve reached it's max by now.
Please create a poll and see how many of your members want this old hag gone. You don't owe us nothing, but I think when SO many people have a problem with one user , it's time to act and react.
