Bands Reunited

Postby S2M » Wed Mar 10, 2010 3:42 am

...remember this show hosted by Aamer Haleem? Cool concept, even if the bands they chosde to corral were subject.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bands_Reunited

What bands would you like to see on this show if they were to resurrect it?

Gimme The Powerstation.

Yes I know Tony Thompson and Robert Palmer are booted.

I'll take Andy Taylor, John Taylor, Michael Desbarsess, and Drummer X.

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!, , even though Robert Palmer stole the Power Station sound for his solo career and ran it into the ground. And their 2nd album did suck horribly.

I've only seen a handful of episodes, and they seemed to focus most on 80's new wave/new romantic bands. My favorite episode by far was Flock of Seagulls, especially since I'd seen the Mike Score solo version twice live in small clubs.

I ran across a real expose' rant by (I think) the lead singer of Information Society griping about how they'd totally distorted their meeting with him and taken it out of context for the purposes of the show. He broke what happened down completely, and it did sound like they really tried to manipulate him. No surprise in any of these shows.

They need to reunite the original W.A.S.P. -- there would be a great show with plenty of bad blood and drama to go along with it.

Not true any longer dude. I have told the story on here many times- Gary owns a house in Newbury Park, CA, and I used to see him daily, tooling around in a 49ers sweatshirt pounding Boones Farm down at the Lamp Post Pizza parking lot, where I frequented every fucking day for Happy Hour pitchers for 5 bucks. He no longer trolls and word is the dude is off the sauce and starting to looking more and more fit. Man he could flat out play the guitar. Cronin only lives 12 miles from him in Agoura Hills- Maybe they reached out and solved their differences?

Anyway, REO just signed up with Pat Benatar for a co headlining tour, not that anyone's interested.

No shit, that's awesome. I'd love to see him come back. I like Dave Amato too, wouldn't mind seeing a 3-guitar tour between Cronin, Richrath, and Amato. Amato's a great backing vocalist too.

REO+Pat Benatar is a great bill, I'd see that for sure.

hmm, i'll have to map french lick out. Never heard of it. At any rate, Indiana isn't that close... anywhere in IN will be at least 3.5 hours for me. I'd just as soon hit Chi-town up unless it was Indianapolis (one hell of a nice city, BTW).

EDIT: 7 hours. Fuck that, I can get to Chicago quicker!

Andy Taylor rocks! Best thing to ever come out of all that preppiness known as Duran Duran. Love his stuff outside of DD, when he just rocks. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTrQWWcmPwE

Be careful what you wish for. I have a feeling this reunion would sound like shit. Infact, I'm so certain of it I would pass on buying tickets. You are not gonna hear the Journey sound out of 61 year old vocals. How many steps could they tune down and have the songs still be recognizable?
