I think you need to bring an 18 pack to the party Friday night, down 'em all, and go to work on the forum.

I'll be getting really liquored up this Friday night for the first time since HOB in Cleveland. :)

Phyllis - your post is perhaps misguided and poorly worded, but let me address it briefly.

You are absolutely correct in the fact I want to continue my writing and working towards the ideas I have, I remain very passionate about this. But the stark reality is that this business is in the shitter.
There is less money in the scene now than at any time previous in the 13 years I have been doing this. I slide backwards little by little each and every month and have done so for the last 12 months - coinciding with the worst 12 months of my life health wise.

I wasn't sure I was up for organizing another show...still hopeful I can make it thru unscathed...but the die hard supportes of this scene (including the family on this board) were calling for one and the fact is that such a bold move is the ONLY way I could ever hope to raise enough capital to get out of trouble.
No one else is going to suddenly appear with a wad of cash to bring to the site/business.

So I take cances to make my own luck. Will it pay off? Right now maybe not....but perhaps. And if it does, you'll have another 12 months of guaranteed posting time to annoy the absolute shit out of everyone else.

If not...well, you'll brobably have to find another unsuspecting family of message board posters to bring your ever joyous message to.

Right now you'll excuse me while I go and try and round up some sponsorship support for MelodicRockFest 2 - the biggest and best melodic rock festival anywhere in 2010.

Saw this quote this morning that goes right to what I was saying in this thread:

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.” –Alan Cohen

I still don't understand your need for stating this.
The only reason one would say such things would be to bring about negativity.
How can you possibly know the profits and pits of it?
Just can't agree with you this time Phyllis.

Instead of taking a sentence out of the entire context it may help to take time to read all of what I said in this thread in this regard including the quote I just posted and maybe you will be able to see clearer. I do think Andrew knows what I meant in the full context as was evident within his response and thats all that really matters.

You are not looking further ahead. I believe Andrew is or is at least trying to. If you or anyone else fails to read and understand where the conversation led then so be it, thats your option. As I also said: growth is an option. You can either stay where you are with what you have decided is correct in your own mind or you can look further to learn and understand. It's up to you. If you choose to view something as negative you will regardless if I say you are incorrect.

So, your saying your powerless because you never change and that you lack courage because you continue to hold on to all of your old tired views/thoughts. Something tells me this is the least of your troubles Image

When the overwhelmingly majority say that your statements were in fact negative and not their respective opinions, then it does in fact become a fact.

I'd also like to congratulate you to progressing to a level to where your guardians are finally allowing you to come out of that padded room during the day and you can in fact go out and enjoy the day. However, it's too bad they haven't taken away your internet privileges.

I am sitting here trying to watch Deal or No Deal, but the thoughts of what her cave must be like is overwhelming ...can you imagine, a cavernous opening, so big that one could drive a fuckin Hummer into it blindfolded, and not have to worry about striking the walls; Meanwhile, you must be careful to avoid the rotten puss flowing out of the cracks, and the curdled cottage cheese that has formed in the corners. Add to that, the horrific smell, rivaling that of only stale 4 week old rotten milk. Man, that would make for a harrowing thrill ride at an amusement park wouldn't it? "Welcome to TVL. You will be transformed from everyday regular life into the fucking abyss. If you believe in God, pray now, and if you don't believe in God, pray anyway. You are going to be sorry you ever got on this ride motherfucker!" The only ride where the passenger is givin a hazmat suit and a gas mask.
