I agree with this, for the most part. If you live your life morally, make good decisions and are good to others, why in the fuck would you need religion? Because they scare you into believing that God wants you to do it their way. That way they can manipulate your wallet or get you to strap on that homicide vest. Religions slowly brainwash you, and most people don't even realize it.

My whole family (nine aunts and uncles, tons of cousins) in Georgia, small town church, and including my parents, when alive, found a lot of happiness from their religion and all lived a very family-centered life. That's a broad generalization you made. Sure, there's extremes in people and their beliefs and in certain religions more so than others. I consider Benny Hinn practically evil for preying on people's wallets and sickness, many not having much money, with his fake healing, and his designer clothes and Rolexes, etc. Reverend Billy Graham I admire greatly.

Does not suprise me in the least.

My entire 8 years at grammar school I witnessed fundraiser after fundraiser to fix the roof on the (unnecessarily large) church. Far as I know, that roof has still not been fixed, repaired, patched, whatever.

The box of church offering envelopes they gave us each year were numbered so they could tell what families were donating, and believe me, it wasn't because they wanted to send thank you notes. SICKENING.

lol ... we got notes sent home basically blasting me because I was never, and I mean not fucking once, at church on Saturday or Sunday. They knew because the little numbered envelope wasn't in the collection box. But they no longer cared that I wasn't there when my mom started giving me the envelope to turn in on Monday. All they cared about was the $$$ ... and she knew that. I refused to go to church on the weekends. It would have taken someone physically restraining me and carrying me in that motherfucker. What a crock of shit. Kneel, stand, sit, sit, stand, kneel, sing, stand, sing, sit. No fucking thanks, asshole. I figured out by age 8 that this was nothing more than brainwashing. Amazing that fuckers still go into their adulthood.

More Breaking news.._..._ Dateline - Rome

Vatican criticizes condom machines in Rome school

The decision by a Rome high school to install condom vending machines has set off a storm in Italy, with the Catholic Church charging the move will encourage young people to have sex and Rome's mayor saying it sends the wrong message.

But the Keplero high school vowed Thursday to go ahead with its experiment, billed as the first in the capital. While it's a relative novelty for Italy, schools in several other European countries have installed the machines in hopes of curbing teen pregnancy and HIV.

"This is not about stimulating the use of condoms or intercourse," Antonio Panaccione, the school headmaster, told The Associated Press. "On the contrary, it's about prevention and education."

The school plans to install six vending machines as part of educating students about sexuality and HIV protection. The price: euro2 (US$2.70) for a pack of three, lower than market prices.

Cardinal Agostino Vallini, the pope's vicar for Rome, said the decision trivialized sex. He said it "cannot be approved by Rome's ecclesiastical community or by Christian families who are seriously concerned with the education of their children."

The newspaper of the Italian Bishops' Conference said Thursday that sex was being reduced to "mere physical exercise." The newspaper, L'Avvenire, lamented that young people these days have no spiritual guidance on sexuality, and that educators are more concerned with "the health and hygiene consequences of sex" than its moral implications.

The Vatican opposes artificial contraception. Catholic teaching views sex as a means for procreation within marriage.

Pope Benedict XVI drew criticism from European governments, international organizations and scientists last year when he said distributing condoms was not the answer to Africa's AIDS problem, and could make it worse. He said a moral attitude toward sex — abstinence and marital fidelity — would help fight the virus.

"The scandal is that we do it in Rome, because this is the city of the pope and therefore one can't really talk about sex," Panaccione said in a phone interview. "They can talk about pedophilia, can't they?" he said, referring to a sex abuse scandal rocking the Roman Catholic Church in several European countries.

But some criticism came from outside the church, too.

A leading association of parents, MOIGE, said the move was "trivial and insufficient." Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno, a conservative, was quoted by the ANSA news agency as saying that "on the one hand it's childish to think young people need these vending machines, on the other hand it seems like a bad message to them."

The head of Italy's national association of Catholic pharmacists, Piero Uroda, suggested condoms were responsible for increased rapes and violence.

"We're giving sugar to the diabetic," he told Radio 24 Il Sole 24 Ore.

Panaccione said condom distribution was only part of the sex education curriculum. The school enrolls about 860 students aged 15-19 at two venues — one in a lower-middle class neighborhood, one in a blue-collar area.

Panaccione said the decision was taken because of the rising number of HIV cases among young people, and to break a taboo still surrounding the use of condoms in Italy.

LILA, a national association for the prevention of HIV/AIDS, said distributing condoms could help combat HIV among the young.

Teen pregnancies have been on the rise in Italy, although not sharply. According to the latest figures made available by national statistics agency ISTAT, there was a 0.5 percent increase in teen pregnancy between 2006 and 2007.

On average, Italian women have sex for the first time at age 16, according to SIGO, a group of Italian gynecologists and obstetricians. Almost four in 10 have unprotected sex the first time.

European countries including Belgium, Britain, Germany and the Netherlands have had instances of schools selling condoms. Spain, like Italy a predominantly Catholic country where the church still has some influence on society, has a few schools in the Catalonia region with condom vending machines.

In France, nearly 96 percent of high schools — public schools and private schools that receive state funds — have condom vending machines, according to a survey conducted by the Education Ministry last year. The prevalence results from a 2006 government circular urging high schools to install them.

However, students at Lycee Carnot, a public high school in western Paris, appeared divided Thursday about whether condom dispensers in their school were useful.

"I think it is a good idea. More is better than less. And it is less expensive than in a drugstore," said Alexis Freiberg, an 18-year-old.

There have been some cases of condoms being distributed at public schools in the United States, but it is not commonplace.

In Italy, the only other reported case of a condom-vending machines was in a Turin school over a decade ago. ANSA reported the machines were eventually removed since they weren't being used.

The Vatican still has some influence on Italian society and politics. Its views on sexuality, marriage and contraception are often echoed by the powerful Italian Bishops' Conference and typically get significant coverage.

Panaccione said the reason Italy is less progressive regarding sex education than other countries lies not with the Vatican alone, but also with the "duplicity and reluctance of many families, which to this day still look the other way."

"To them this is a dogma: One must not talk about it, only do it — secretly!" he said.

Elena Bucchinelli, a high-school student in Rome, said she approved of the Keplero initiative.

"We young people are the most vulnerable to the risks of unprotected sex. Schools and families are the best places to receive this kind of information," the 16-year-old said, as she drove her moped to a public school downtown Rome.

"Many young people think they know all that there is to know about sex," she said, "but that's not true."

In other News of the Lord today....

Lost Jewish tribe 'found in Zimbabwe'

Image

The Lemba people of Zimbabwe and South Africa may look like their compatriots, but they follow a very different set of customs and traditions.

They do not eat pork, they practise male circumcision, they ritually slaughter their animals, some of their men wear skull caps and they put the Star of David on their gravestones.

Their oral traditions claim that their ancestors were Jews who fled the Holy Land about 2,500 years ago.

It may sound like another myth of a lost tribe of Israel, but British scientists have carried out DNA tests which have confirmed their Semitic origin.

These tests back up the group's belief that a group of perhaps seven men married African women and settled on the continent. The Lemba, who number perhaps 80,000, live in central Zimbabwe and the north of South Africa.

And they also have a prized religious artefact that they say connects them to their Jewish ancestry - a replica of the Biblical Ark of the Covenant known as the ngoma lungundu, meaning "the drum that thunders".

The object went on display recently at a Harare museum to much fanfare, and instilled pride in many of the Lemba.

"For me it's the starting point," says religious singer Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave.

"Very few people knew about us and this is the time to come out. I'm very proud to realise that we have a rich culture and I'm proud to be a Lemba.

"We have been a very secretive people, because we believe we are a special people."

no, they just think they are, what's the word? "parfait" and we are all horrible sinners who must repent  of course we are! But so is the priest, and the bishop and everyone and it's when they forget that and dwell too much on "sin" that they lose people. I mean afterall everyone knows we are all really a huge bunch of sinners supporting each other trying to get by in life. No doubt! But we don't need that French finger pointed at us every week!

I'm no fan of the Catholic church and have railed on them fucks for years. I simply can't respect an organization that invites and protects pedophiles, mandates that its employees not have sex or children (priests and nuns) and hoards money in such a way that it would make a Jew blush. It's run very much like organized crime. At the surface they try and present a squeaky clean image, but when you get past the surface you realize it's all about money and power ... and they'll do virtually anything to retain that money and power.

I'll share a somewhat personal story that I think pretty much encapsulates this shit organization. My parents divorced when I was very young and I was raised by my mother. I saw my dad on the weekends and we were about as close as that sort of situation allows. Anyway, I went to Mount Carmel high school on Chicago's south side. It's a pretty prestigious high school whose alumni include Denny McClain (baseball's last 30 game winner), Antoine Walker (former NBA star), Donovan McNabb (Philadelphia Eagles), Edward Vrdolayk (powerful Chicago politician), and a whole host of other prominent Chicago alderman and statewide officials. Anyway, my father was in the father's club and my mother was in the mother's club. Part of being in the clubs was a sort of "insurance policy" that if one of your parents passed away while you were a student your tuition for the remainder of your years was free. My dad died during the summer of 1986 and my mother went to the school in the fall to talk to the administration about this "policy." The school "regretfully" informed her that because my parents were not married they couldn't honor it. Funny how the priests there could constantly smell like alcohol and I know a few of them were fags, but the action of my parents divorcing was "against the values the school believes in."

That's pretty much how they operate. They prey on dopey fuckers that have that little "gleam" in their eyes as they stroll into church and the priests prance around with a phony facade so they can milk your pocketbook so they don't have to work. Say 2 or 3 masses a day, pick out your next 11 year old target, count the day's money from the dumbfucks, get liquored up and go to sleep. I have almost zero respect for the catholic church. And I've long felt that the "no sex" policy for priests was a deliberate attempt to hide the fact that most of those fuckers are creepy pedophiles. The depths of hell will be lined with those assholes.

That's it.

I don't think I've ever called you "a fucking moron", "dumb son of a bitch", or anything like that throughout this, despite strongly, STRONGLY disagreeing with about every word you type. You should probably learn how to state your opinions without resorting to petty name-calling.

Also, you're pretty much comparing pedophilia to homosexuality, which is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Pedophilia is wrong because a child cannot give proper consent, for obvious reasons. Thus, it is of course one of the most horrible acts of exploitation someone can ever do to another person. Homosexuality is a mutual thing, and it doesn't hurt anyone else. The only people hurt by homosexuality are homosexuals themselves who have to put up with people like you who demonize them.

Plus, I like how you're leaving lesbians out of this. Are they fine because you don't think the way they have sex is disgusting? Honestly, what goes on in someone's bedroom isn't any of your business anyway, so I have no idea why you care so much about how someone decides to do it. It's not you, and it's not hurting anyone else, so what is the big deal here?

Could you please retype that? It looks like you were typing with two big cocks in your hand.

So, you're saying that it would be ok to go suck your dad's dick if you both agreed to it? :?

I think it's just as horrifying as male homosxuality. I have never in my life watched 2 broads go it in any capacity. The very thought of it sickens me.

I'm giving my opinion. I have not ever, nor will I ever, touch or physically harm a fag. And I'd stick up for one if I saw one being physically harmed because of their fucked up lifestyle.

Um, I'm sure you know that's not what she's saying. That is just as disgusting as saying it would be okay for you to have sex with your own mother providing she would let you. Some things are just wrong & incest is the wrongest.
