That's very cool! I've never seen snow geese. We only have Canada geese here. Every year I like to drive up to the Horicon Marsh in mid-October and there will be over a hundred thousand geese there on any given day. Last fall I was driving out in the country and came upon a farm field with thousands of sand hill cranes resting on their migration. What's really amazing about that is 30 years ago, they were practically extinct in WI. Conservationists have done a great job bringing back our wild turkey, crane and bald eagles. They're now working to bring back the whooping crane which was extinct in this state. They teach the birds to migrate by flying with them in ultra light planes all the way to Florida!

The video said it was filmed at Lake Springfield. Is that Springfield, IL? There's a lake by that name just up the road from the U of I Springfield.
