Live in Norman, Oklahoma 1983 -- ?

Postby PianoMan1986 » Mon Mar 22, 2010 1:56 pm

Hey everybody,

I caught the last couple songs from this on the radio tonight and I was wondering if by some chance one of you has this show in its entirety. If so I would be greatly appreciative, although I'm afraid I don't have anything to offer in return.

Thanks,

Nick

I once had a copy of it on cassette. I bought it many years ago (pre-internet) because it was tagged Live in Philadelphia, probably because the JFK boot is the most popular boot of that tour.

I'll see if I can dig it up. IF I can find it, I'll be happy to send you the tape. I have no need for it because I no longer have a cassette player.

There's a lot more on that site where those came from.

Thanks, although I don't know how to convert .rar files to an audio format.

a .rar file is just like a .zip file. It's just compressed. Find a program like WinRar (which is free), which will unzip the file and you get your mp3.

I checked out the version that was on there and it's ok, but has some cracks/pops to it, but Wykked suggested an alternative.

I downloaded the second one- did they actually play that fast, or is the source tape sped up?

You heard it correctly, they played it too fast, yet played even faster on the ROR tour.

All part of that "perfectionist" fallacy regarding the lead singer. Post 1983 I don't think he was even batting .500 as far as singing the songs with any semblance of the way they were originally done, and it forced the other members to bastardize their original work, too. That's not to say that there weren't any quality ROR shows. There were. But I'm guessing that had more to do with "Vitamin B" than anything.

At least you got to go... I was "too young"

Got to see 'em limp through the Myriad on the RoR tour though. I still hate Glass Tiger.
