Color Me Badd does a cover of the song also. A pop ballad more akin to Open Arms, not a real power ballad per say.

Open Arms-Journey

I still remember hearing that on WLS AM 7 whatever they were in the early 80's. First rock tune? Crazy Train. I was an MTV junkie and that video was on all the time!!

Squirt, I don't hate republicans, I only really dislike about 40 million of them(I like you though you old bag  ). However, you better start worrying about only having one party left. I can see the Tea Baggers messing this up for the GOP. Come November, I can see those idiots splitting the vote and giving the Dems more seats than they should get.. The way it stands now, the GOP will pick up quite a few, quite common in off years for the party out of power, but I am telling you, this Obama win Sunday could mean two things- It can mean a really big hit against the Dems or, and this is very possible- the Health Care Law may give the Dems a fucking legacy. The GOP will pick up seats in the mid terms sure...but come 2012, another Obama win, and a big pick up of seats for the Dems, sets up an added incremental improvement in the second term, a term that will hold huge political capital for the president, and a real chance to get a lot of stuff done. If this health care law works, and I believe it will, more and more health reform will be added to it, hopefully the public option at some point, and the GOP will be so irrelevant, it won't even be funny. Nowhere in this historic bill/law, is there a republican name.....nor was there a single republican thought, or idea, or suggestion. TNC has it right as usual, however, I would like to see a bit more enthusiasm out of him..this bill doesn't go far enough but the basics and the foundation is there, and more and more improvements like the public option can be incrementally added to it, I suspect when this bill goes into effect, and people see what it does and who it helps, the Dems will get a real chance to move some more historic movements getting through the Congress and onto the president's desk, and no, this law will not be repealed nor will any of the Obama agenda.

I still love ya Squirty. Send me a fuckin' Reds shirt, XXL. Thanks. I love the Red Legs! Did I tell you I once got a BJ in Riverfront Stadium, back in 1984, against the Dodgers by a complete Cincinnati stranger. Yup, My grandma and I took a 18,000 mile train journey across the country, watching Reds baseball in Cincy, Milwaukee, Philly, NY, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco. It was awesome and I was 18 years old, and my grandma basically came along to loan me money and buy me beer! 8) She would go to sleep in the hotel about 8, and I was out the door, embarking on a trim hunt like no other. Scored a New Orleans girl that still to this day makes the hairs on the my balls under my tool tickle something fierce. :P  Tall brunette, firm eye level boobies, long legs with fishnet stockings on and come fuck me heels..Goddammit, take me back in time good lord! I will never forget that. Getting random sex in ballparks, under freeways in Kansas City, on the train headed to Seattle, and in the bathroom at a motel 6 in Fulton, Kentucky, across the great Ohio River with the Cincinnati skyline peeping through the louvers at 515 AM. Those were the best days of my life- Bryan Adams, and me, 1984. :)

You mean Riverfront stadium got torn down because of all the gyrations you caused ? I am so proud you called me an old bag instead of hag ! Your opinions of Reds pitching ? I want to see the Cuban kid that throws 100-105 mph. I like to watch Arroyo and Homer Bailey. Before you know it here comes the Bengals. Do you think they will ever sign Terrell Owens? Chad wants him. Carson Palmer was asked if he could play with a difficult receiver. He said that he thought he had more experience with that than any QB in the NFL. You know he was talking about our dancer Chad Ocho plus Chad has a new reality show. So, that tells me he is thinking maybe 2 more yrs in the NFL. What do you think if Chris Henry didn't break his arm about the 10-6 record ?

Sign Terrel Owens, TWO? Hell No. Guy is a cancer, always has been and always will be. Plus, he just isn't that good.

This guy is a stud: Aroldis Chapman. He has hit 105 MPH six times this year (MLB Spring Training) Squirt(that name has sexual innuendo written all over it  ), but they need to make him pitch, not just throw. These hitters can hit 100 mph gas. The future looks bright for the Reds.

Remember the Cincinnati Stingers? I was a huge fan of that team. They played in the WHL when Gretzky was an Edmonton oiler and there were two leagues, the NHL and the WHL. Remember that Squirty?

open arms back when it first came out.the song that got me into this band back in 1982.used to love it before it got played to death.first i taped it off the radio then i went out and got my first cassette 'escape'.probably my favorite album of all time.i think home sweet home by motley crue was when the hair band power ballad really started to pick up steam.after that it seemed like van halen, aerosmith, def leppard, etc. all started doing them.

That song always takes me back to vacation road trip memories when I was young and gives me that nostalgia feeling. My dad always had the radio going and that's one of those they played a lot. What year was that?

Yeah and apparantly Opens Arms sux right? funny that, just thought i'd mention its Journey's single most successfull song in the charts back in their glory days, forget Don't Stop Beleivin'. If DSB was actually bigger in 81 when it really matterd, I'd might say otherwise. And if you watch the VH1 Behind the Music Journey episode, there are professional music historians talking about the fact how Journey invented the power ballad! :D

They didn't invent it Vladan, they made it popular and they were good at it. Two completely different things here.
