we all know your names. Oh, Portland, where are you?

Did you not read and comprehend my above post....I really am over it! You enjoy your replacement!

I enjoy them all, Perry, Augeri, Arnel. :D

No Soto???

Most people of the right mind instinctively knew Soto was not the right fit for Journey's purposes. Arnel is definitely the closest since SP.. There will never be another SP but at least the band can go forward now with some integrity, maintaining what most ears recognize as the Journey sound, and then some. :D

Can't even respond to this.

I Can. It's dead on.

Oh so ok..NOW they have integrity..I see.

Soto was never "the right fit?" Oh ok. So that's why Neal loved him and they hired him as new lead singer. Then, magically, he all of a sudden was not the right fit for Journey? I guess you can't have balls and be the lead singer for Journey? Pineda sure as Hell doesn't have nads. Sure he can sing, but he isn't leading this band. He doesn't contribute to the writing process. he sings other people's songs. perry had balls and he found himself fired. Soto had balls, gone. Augeri had no balls and lasted 7 years, 3 too many. I guess if you just show up, sing on key you're golden in Neal's eyes. Journey fans have to be the absolute worst fans in music.

Deano- I think Neal still had a boner from the Soul Sirkus stuff. It was pretty clear that Caine was not on board- or it seemed so.
Regarding Pineda leading the band- um, in how many bands does the newest member lead them? It took Perry a few years to do so. On stage, Pineda definitely takes control. Augeri certainly didn't and was kind of a timid front guy if you ask me (and I like him). He doesn't contribute to the writing process YET. The album was mostly written before he got there. It may have just been timing. The next record will show what he does with that or doesn't. Perry had balls but he also had to have it all his way. That cost us Smith and Valory (though Smith was definitely the bigger loss) and the band for years actually. Regarding Soto having balls, sure he did, but he was never the right fit for the band. Whether his balls got him fired or not, I certainly don't know. I think it was more a sound and fit issue (vocally). He's a helluva singer, but he's NOT a Journey-sounding singer.

With regards to your last sentence, I can't argue with that.

thanks for an objective reply to Deano. Perry found himself fired? Hah. He left them hanging for ten years while he worked on a solo career, ATW and FTLOSM, or doing nothing, and then comes back and stalls after making the album while the band waited and waited for him to deal with his hip issue. Funny how Deano never called Perry fired all these years until he got the hate on for Neal. Re Soto, oh, he's fired b/c he had balls. Maybe he was fired b/c a lot of the feedback was people not feeling him and in the end they knew the vocals were all wrong for a touring band and Journey sound, and maybe a personality clash. Who knows. Journey is a great success for their age and new singer yet again, with (although Dean and some on here hate it) great reviews on their album across the board. Something is working for them these days.

And b/f Deano says whatever Neal does I go rah, rah, rah, wrong. If JSS was still with the band, I doubt I would be following it much. You have to feel the singer for Journey, and the sound didn't work for me. No magic, just for me. Not speaking for anyone else. I feel a great chemistry on stage with Arnel for Journey music.

Just let Steve handle all the promotion for the next Journey album, it will be money in the bank.

No offense, but HOW is this good news? Do you really wanna hear these autotuned punks ruin Journey songs? Ech.... funny show, but the singers sound like robots. No thanks.

Alright, good news for everyone but you then.

I missed this ^^^^
