We (my family and I) own both a Wii and PS3 and enjoy them quite a bit. We just don't make a "career" out of playing video games as some of you seem to. Man, I mean...do you actually "do" anything else??? Seriously...you could write a book on games, systems, etc.

No I don't. I don't particularly like the Xbox 360. But, I can understand why people would want one and choose it over the PS3. I liked the GameCube, but I can understand why people would buy an Xbox and/or a PS2 and ignore it.

You judge Mario games as kiddie game and less fun than other games , only cause you haven't played through Mario Galaxy to see what kind of challenge and fun factor the package holds.

Wrong. I say that is the way the gaming community has judged the Wii and Nintendo.

I say, from my perspective, that platformers in general are boring and I just don't care much for them.

I am a lot more openminded than you when it comes to gaming.

I agree...that's why I like "Call of Duty" over the other FPS games out there. It is definitely not anything like you describe above.

While you label Nintendo as a kiddie console , many others enjoy the many fun games that they still offer.

Wrong again. I say that is how the gaming community as a whole has labeled them. Even some hardcore Nintendo fans are disappointed with the choice of games offered. The Wii has ignored them and catered to a different crowd of housewifes, old people, and small children. That is Nintendo's audience nowadays.

I love my PS3 abs recently enjoyed the he'll out of GOW III and Heavy Rain. But when you play a game like Zelda or Mario , you will see so many minor original things in each game that it just makes you wonder why the competition is so far behind.

When COD is put in the Wii and they have to slash content to the degree that they did, then there is a problem. When games like Resident Evil 5 IGNORE the Wii where they once were exclusive, there is a problem. Nintendo can only live off of Mario, Zelda and Samus for so long before people get bored of them...I am bored with them now.

Pretty much any playformer releases the last 25 years , has been a Mario wannabe. Same thing with adventure games wanting to copy the Zelda games. While I think Sony is in this for a long time , I'm certain that Microsoft will give up within the next 5 years and focuses on software production only

I don't think so. Microsoft knows that the money is in the selling of the rights to release games on their system. Sony learned that years ago for the PS1. Microsoft will take a loss on the hardware (as Sony did with the PS3) as long as they can still make money on the games - and they are doing very well with that. Why drop out when they are right in the competition? if the software is not there, then maybe...but that is not happening and I doubt that it will.

You posted hardware sales...care to post last weeks software sales? I bet the Wii is hardly on it, and I haven't looked that up in a very long time.

The mere fact that you declined the challenge of completing MG 2 shows you're not a true gamer , just a talker-out-of-asser , like you or on many subjects around here.

That's like asking you to jump into COD:MW2 multiplayer and see how long it takes you to prestige. I have no interest in platformers. The only one I may be interested in right now is Ratchet and Clank, because of the story and humor and general goofiness. Mario does nothing for me, and hasn't for a very long time.

I am not trying to label YOU as anything. All I am saying is Nintendo is no longer attracting the hardcore gaming crowd.

The Nintendo has allowerd many 3rd party developers to release pure crap on the Wii,,,, but so is the case with many other systems,,,,, The best selling system of all time, PS2, has 1000s of crappy games released for it,,,, same thing with PS3 and 360..... "rule of thumb is that only 5% of the games released for a system are QUALITY games.... I personaly think back in NES days it was more like 20%.....

I doubt you can prove any of that...you are just guessing.

What I will say is that even though the GameCube had limited titles, I was satisfied with what I got. All the Star Wars games were great, MonkeyBall, DoubleDash, Soul Calibur (with Link!), the LotR movie games, X-Men Legends, Resident Evil 4...I still play many GC games on the Wii. The Wii has had a problem getting quality releases. Soul Calibur is what really pushed me to the PS3. The simple fact is that the quality games are released on the other systems and then ported and chopped up for the Wii, if they are released at all...Or, they release some alternate title (both Soul Calibur and Resident Evil did this) as some kinda hush puppy. There really hasn't been a "must have" game for the Wii since Mario Kart, almost a year ago. At the same time, there are too many quality games for the PS3 that I want, and I can't get all of them.

With Wii having 3 games on top 5, I hardly doubt it that the GAMING COMMUNITY has given up on Wii... Its a fact that Nintendo gets both gamers AND non-gamers onboard.... a smart move if you ask me.
