Twilight: New Moon

General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

I haven't seen "New Moon" yet because I am afraid that it will be lousy. I loved "Twilight" the first movie - it had some flaws but they filmed it in 28 days or something on a very small budget. What I like is that it had that indie film feeling & I could relate to that "crush on a mysterious boy in high school" thing - pure fantasy. But, when they made this film they had no idea it was ever gonna be a huge success & so they fired the first director, a woman, and hired another who was gonna turn it into an action blockbuster.
I tried to read the books to see what they were all about, but they just made me crazy...lots of words with little substance...but, then again I'm not the target audience (young teen girls). These were written by a devout Mormon mother.
I know what you mean about Kristen Stewart...watching her in t.v. interviews twitching & looking like she's in torture makes ME nervous. But, Robert P. is sexy no matter what!

LOL, just like I looked up Robert Pattinson photos to be fair in case he was actually a good-looking dude. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they woulda been more legit going with Luke Perry.

BTW, we went to see Sin City Sinners play and Dyanna Lauren was the special guest, also celebrating her birthday that night. They had her up onstage to sing some songs and the chick can BELT it out!!! I'd honestly never heard of her before, and had to Wikipedia her to find out who she is. They said she's in the Porn Hall of Fame. Naturally being a photo ho myself, I just had to get a pic.

Wow, I didn't realize the first one was low budget or filmed on such a short schedule -- it came off like a big summer film to me.

The new film is pretty much to me what you found in the books -- lots of words, little substance. I think Kristen Stewart is justification enough for the existence of Xanax. Re: Robert Pattinson, if girls now think B.O. is sexy, I'm selling all my stock in deodorant companies, pronto.

I've seen excerpts from the Twilight books and read the summaries on Wikipedia, and I've seen both movies... so I have an educated opinion.

The movies are exceptionally boring and the story borders on offensive. It makes me sick that girls find a role model in Bella. Her life revolves around her high school sweetheart, and they get married and have a baby right outta high school. It doesn't work that way!!

ACK!!! You just spoiled the 3rd movie for me! I was really looking forward to not seeing it! Haha!

Sarah, for some reason I can totally imagine you with a Robert Pattinson pin-up on your wall. :)

Anything I've seen of the Twilight series on TV or the big screen has been rather boring and annoying.

I made a great photo of Stevew2 once that was perfect pin-up material. It totally exemplified primal machismo and alcohol-fueled mulletude, but I don't think he liked it very much.
