Meat Loaf's Los Angeloser

Postby rockinfayrose » Tue Mar 30, 2010 12:01 pm

Here's the official video to Meat Loaf's brand new single "Los Angeloser"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn-4fg0Mv44

Now I love Meat Loaf and he could pretty much get away with anything with me, however even I think this video is leaning towards ridiculous. I can only imagine how the critics are going to tear this one apart. What do you critics here on MR think?

That's what happens with pretty much every thread. I would know seeing is i made a thread bitching about the job market and then it turned into a 40 page fight about something. What was that all about anyway?

Oh yeah, that thread turned into an epic novel...I was originally going to make a post relating to your topic and then it went way south. I still wanted to comment so bad at around page 30 but thought it best to keep my mouth shut

I've never been to L.A., but all I got from the song and video is that there are a lot of losers in L.A. who get by servicing sugar mamas from the Valley who pay their way. They made a point of showing the guy's dog tags in several scenes of the video which may cause more controversy over it than anything. To me it's just a lousy song and I would not want to listen to it again. It's a disappointing effort considering Meat Loaf can really belt out some good songs!

Wow, I am a huge Meatloaf fan, one of my all time favourite artists ever. The Bat Out Of Hell Trilogy is simply a work of art.

But this song is awful! WTF? oh I don't care for video clips these days, since when was a video clip any good anyway?. But this song is so bad, it's like he decided to sing a shit song for the hell of it, why? because he can. We look at his past stuff, and we look at this, and I scratch my head and wonder what the hell.

Two big thumbs down. And a worthy contender for worst single of the decade, lol. Oh mate, what a let down.

So I had said I kind of liked the song. Not a lot, but a little. Well, I've listened to the whole album. That has to be one of the worst albums by a top-selling artist I have ever heard, in my opinion. The writing is horrible. Some of the language thrown in to try and be cool just sounds like an old man trying to be hip and it completely misses. I have no idea how his people allowed him to put this thing out. And I am a fan. Very, very disappointed.

That's a pretty big contradiction seeing how Steinman didn't have a damn thing to do with this song.

It is a great song though. One of my favs too.

How did you hear the whole album? Are you in the UK? Won't be released in the US til May 11th...Now I'm afraid I'll suffer disappointment when I do get the CD

A friend had it and gave it to me. Not sure what you are into, but I can't imagine one person genuinely liking this. Imagine a truck driver walked into a record store and won a contest that allowed him to record a CD. And then imagine they made him write his own lyrics. Then imagine they contest allowed only one full day of studio time. This is that CD.

Ok - maybe I am being a little harsh, but this is what it felt like to me. I had high hopes.

Here is the deal. Without Steinman - don't try to recreate Steinman. Not gonna happen. Go in a different direction.
