Treat- Coupe De Grace

Postby LtVanish » Fri Mar 26, 2010 12:47 pm

Holy Shit is the new Treat album kick ass! I have been listening to this cd the last week non stop. There is not a weak moment on this album, sound is fantastic, absolute AOR masterpiece. This could be the album of the year for me already.

The War is Over
All In
Roar
Papertiger

these songs are infectious to say the least.

Treat yourself to this album right away, seriously!

Serious question here. I have heard too that these guys are very good. What nation do they come from? I would like to hear more of them..

What's their website? I can't find it.

Hmmm I don't know, got the album right here. I am unsure, so far it sounds to me like a very waterd down ED-GUY. Pretty ordinary in my honest opinion. It may grow on me, I just don't know know... get back to you on that :)

Never really cared for their old stuff, but the first song on this new one sounds pretty good. Is it the same singer?

Treat is a solid band. Back in the late 80s though they were labeled as a "Europe-wanna-be" band. They never reached Europe's success of course , but they did make some decent albums.

Looks like you're in for a treat , Dean. ;)

I can't believe that Dean is really interested in these guys since he blasts all the other bands that are anything like them.

Good going Andrew on a 100% rating for this album!
http://www.melodicrock.com/reviews/reviews.html

Question though, will this album be a 100 when your new rating system is implemented, or will this and the WET album be in the 80's range?

Wow 100 percent for this album. Which means it's the perfect album. I honestly don't mind it, but I beleive there are so many more better albums with a lower rating.

I'm listening to it right now. It's pretty good but 100%? Not even close.

It doesn't deserve any higher than an 80 to 85, at the most.

Yep, I gave it another spin, it's actually got some good catchy tunes to it. I think for me, the biggest let down for this album is the vocals, they are very safe, I just don't hear the range where it should be, where you expect the lead singer to belt it out to another level where somebody like a Jimmy Jamison, Eric Martin, or JSS would of absolutely done the songs justice, and taken it to another level. But the quality is very good, production is top notch

Absolutely yes! JSS is as good as it gets. You know I listened to the full album Coupe De Grace today while driving into the City, I really like it alot now, those songs just stick in your head! really really solid effort by Treat, I can see why Andrew gave it props... though of course I stand by my original opinion but! damn that's one hell of a find. What else is good these days? simular type artists. I'll have to check out their earlier stuff now.

VladMeister , once again I agree with you bro. This fucking album just gets better and better. The whole package is so strong the "weaker" vocals don't even bother me anymore.
These guys should tour US opening for Europe.

The best song on the album is "I'm not running". The most catching song of this decade.

I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

Yeah ... they could have recorded it with him and then never toured in support of it. This guy's as good or better than Soto, anyway. Good album. 88 out of 100.
