The very fact that your teacher has cancer and needs funds just to survive is sickening. How can any American, after knowing this story, be happy with the current health care situation? People shouldn't die in this country because of a lack of funds. I hope all the people who think coverage for all regardless of condition is wrong, look at this situation and tell me with a straight face that they still advocate such a system. If so, you aren't the America I want to know.

Very pissed.

Well, till things improve...........we do what we must. :D I hope for an improvement. But it needs to be thought out so it does more good than harm. We have so many years till it works anyway...........we can do some thinking for it's own good. Forgive me Deano, but as much as it pisses you off we have to think of what we can do right now. And if I have to debase myself to help her I will, as a matter of fact many of her old students are pitching in. She is very loved. :D

songwise I always feel that many songs of Bob Dylan and Neil Young are pure poetry to music. Two of my favorite songs by them:

Live 1971 - Old Man - Neil Young - http://www.youtube.com/v/IaGMi1tt0FE&hl ... fs=1&rel=0

Bob Dylan - Just Like a Woman - http://www.youtube.com/v/6drO8mQnuPE&hl ... fs=1&rel=0

Very nice thread, a feast for the eyes/soul.

I've been loving Kandisky for the longest time. He has a beautiful mind and a mesmerizing sense of form and color.

I have this one hanging on my wall and I adore it. (reproduction, of course)

Another favorite is Picasso. I love his mad mind.

Three Musicians. :)

I use Kandinsky and Picasso to help my students understand that art is not photogenic. It is an expression of color, line, and emotion. If you want a photograph.........take a picture. Thanks for sharing those.

I think music and art go hand in hand. 8)

Jana, thanks for sharing your favorite musical artists. :D

I'm a fan of "realistic" art, especially Greek and Roman-style sculpture and painting:

It's been one of my favorite paintings ever since I saw it at the Getty (it's not there anymore), it's Cupid and Psyche by Jacques Louis David. I like his expression too haha

It is sad how many greek sculptures were smashed and damaged. They took such care for perfection. :(
