Recently finished Rudy's book "Off The Rails".....signed copy by Rudy himself. :) It's about his friendship with Randy, and Ozzy's shinanigans on the Blizzard of Oz tour. Almost made me tear up reading the part of how Randy died.......such a senseless thing. Stupid bus driver flying that small plane (that had Randy and their make-up girl in it too) trying to swoop down and scare the rest of the band awake, in the bus (Rudy, Ozzie, Sharon, etc.)..........and the plane clipped the bus and crashed into the garage of the house on the land they had their tour busses parked on. What a huge loss.....especially to hear Rudy's memories on it all. Guess the pilot/bus driver was jacked up on coke and the hardest thing they found in Randy's system was nicotine. :(

I know you do. I like Springsteen, too. He definitely has a poet's sensibility to writing. They both produced two of the absolute best albums of the 80s, Born in the U.S.A. and Joshua Tree.

I think BITUSA is pop genius, but Bruce fans really disdain it for that reason..7 top ten hits is amazing, but no real deep writing, except for Downbound Train, My Hometown and the title track. When put aside The River, Born to Run, Tunnel of Love, Darkness on the Edge of Town, and the Rising, it pales in quality, even though it has sold 23 million units.
