Michael Eden vs. Dokkzilla

Postby Rip Rokken » Wed Apr 07, 2010 11:40 pm

If Don Dokken were a character in Dungeons & Dragons, he'd already be a 499th level demi-god with unlimited power, own all the land and treasure in the kingdom, and have married every hot princess under the age of 24. All thanks to me of course.

Image

But where does one go from there? It's kinda pointless and honestly Don has to be kinda lonely sitting on a throne so high that the products in his hair are the sole cause of the natural thinning of the ozone layer, spending all day looking down upon the Earth and wondering if this is all there is.

I just got the first two Eden's Curse albums in the mail yesterday and am in melodic rock heaven right now. I think singer Michael Eden is the result of a great breakthru in genetic engineering. They must have sampled DNA from Stone Cold Steve Austin and mixed it with some from C.J Snare of FireHouse, then added about 2 tons of brass balls to create this guy. In time, he may even topple Don to be the greatest rock warrior of all time. He already needs his own action figure, and in another year or so should come out with his own line of fashion.

Can't wait to meet this dude at MR Fest II and raise some holy hell while they're kicking A onstage. :) Did Eden's Curse play at the first MR Fest?

They didn't play at the first one, but I loved what I heard of them so far. Should be great live!

Ahh, ok. What made me wonder was a pic with Eric Ragno & Michael Eden from MR Fest 1 that I found on Eric's website. Michael must have been there sizing up the competition, and now he's returning to divide and conquer. Check out that knowing glint in his eyes, illuminated with the red glow of molten metal power. Expect pain and mayhem to ensue in Chicago. I hope he doesn't hurt Kip Winger.

I'm sure to be accused of curmudgery, but I'm not a fan, Rip. Not melodic enough, if I can't simg along then it usually gets low marks from me......IMHO.

I'M GLAD THEY have fans though.... :o

Cronin the Barbarian, perhaps! Your observation is actually part of the genius behind the Michael Eden technique. He lures you in a false sense of security with the smooth, soothing tones emanating from his vocal chords, then just when you relax and let your guard down, you get smacked square in the back of your neck by a 75 lb. ball-sack that knocks you straight on your face! Don't underestimate him or you'll get stomped when you least expect it. Are you going to be there btw?

To get full appreciation for what I'm talking about there, you have to completely visualize it and contemplate every aspect of the physics behind it. Every factor including gravitational pull, velocity, trajectory, the fulcrum effect as the force of the head being pushed forward also lifts the feet off the ground, and the resistance the concrete floor offers to counter and stop the skid of the chin. Think of it as being hit with a wrecking ball, except only it's a nutsack filled with metal.

Rip I know where you are coming from, I just picked up both Eden albums and am loving them as well. My question is what was your obsession before Dokken? Life before Dokken has got to be a strange universe, a world not yet discovered.

Wow... Been so long ago it's probably a repressed memory by now. Hmmmmmmmm.... Maybe Tiffani Amber Theissen and the Doritos chick, but once you've seen them running around the house naked and without makeup enough times it just kinda spoils the fantasy.
