True ... but you have to admit that FX advertising on the site screams of a lunatic behind the scenes. Nora should, at the very least, bring her husband with.

Congratulations Nora! That sounds like fun and may even lead to something else. I can't wait for the details and thanks for the insight guys - I never would have thought of checking Craigslist for jobs. But I'm not ignoring Dan's warnings either - Craigslist has been on BCTV news more than a few times due to people running scams, soliciting, etc. That can happen with any classified ads, so it's always smart to do some research like Nora.

Break a leg! (Do they say that on TV and movie sets or just the theatre?)

I would agree with that. I always try to bring a male friend if I do any CL transactions.

**waving** HI ~ still alive and not cut up in a trash bag! LOL

Today was sooooooooooo long.....but fun! I got to meet so many cool people.
(BTW ~ "Lights Out", which is the name of this TV Series starring Stacey Keach, will premiere in 2011!)

The amount of 18-wheelers and crew for this kinda stuff....GOOD LORD!!!

Craft-Service was there.....they had AMAZING food and coffee, soda, etc.....ALL FREE!

We shot one scene: a Church-Service where the Priest asks the Congregation for donations for Haiti-Relief...the family, who's the focus of this FX TV series, donated $50,000 to the relief fund.

 which is where I and the other extras come in - look around and murmur. 8)

This one scene was shot about 12 times: wide angle, close ups, focus on each of the speaking parts, crowd reaction, etc.
Heck, by the end of it, I practically had the Priest's lines memorized! LOL

Man I wish I'd studied Media Production.....to me, it's so cool to see how they line up a particular shot, execute the lighting (which, BTW, was cloudy and raining today...but they made it look like a bright, sunshine day) and arrange all the people involved.

TRAG out. And exhausted. CHEERS! \~/

It sounds like such a great experience - way to go! I would love to do this and checked out Craigslist. There were postings for extras, but nothing close enough to where I am. If something comes up close by, I'm going to try out to be an extra too. Thanks Nora!

You're very welcome! 8)

The only "downside" to consider....it IS a LOT of sitting around and waiting

...and waiting...

....and waiting....

Some of the people I was hanging out with did not realize how the whole "extra" thing went.....well, waiting around is pretty much it.
