Went to check out Site of MRF2 last night...

Postby Joe Vana » Thu Apr 15, 2010 1:13 am

Went to "The Roadhouse" last night to check out the venue...see the stage size, lighting, p.a., size of room ect.....very cool....stage is nice size (was hoping so we have 7 guys up there) and the p.a. looks pretty nice too....it will be really loud in that room....and that's a good thing...there is a TON of parking around the place and in the area, and it is right smack dab in the middle of the revitalized part of Elgin....the main bar is huge and there is also one stage left....they have an enormous outside beer garden that looks to be almost open...overall there will be more than enough room no matter how many people are there...the pics of the place I saw online do not do it justice....not at all...

Good pick Andrew!!

See ya on the 30th!

Someone I know PMed me and told me that they've been to the venue/bar (It wasn't Joe Vana). The report was excellent. Said it seemed a bit "country" but that it is spacious, well designed and for what Andrew is throwing seems like a perfect venue because if you want to get really close to the band playing you can walk right up, but if you just want to hear the music but chill at the bar you can also do that. Then there's another part of the place if you wanna chill and talk and, like Joe said, there's an enormous beer garden that has yet to open. I'm starting to get really pumped for this event.

PS You can walk to the The Grand Victoria Casino from the venue. This will be logistically great when I'm flat broke.

What kind of beer do they grow in this garden? :) Hamm's, Strohs, Old Style, Old Milwaukee, PBR, one of these would make me happy.

You kinda contradicted yourself...cause on the one hand you say you can't, not by choice BUT on the other hand if it was styx or REO, youd be there. That in fact MAKES it a choice.
