When you lose on purpose two or three years in a row to get Crosby, Malkin, and Staal....and the league changes the draft rules because of it....verdict: ya cheated.

And they didn't do crap against the Red Wings in game one OR two of the finals last year. Point of the matter is, is that we are NOT as good as we were last year, esp in net. Fluery turned it on and played like a God Send in the playoffs last season. This season he's VERY frail in net and I've seen him get benched more times than not. He is shaky right now, and is very flimsy in the crease and was always mediocre on his rebounds. Granted our defense played like shit, but that last 5 hole goal that Andre let in was terrible, first thing you cover from coming across the body is the 5 hole, that's why goalies have a big ass Jason Vorhees stick.

They will turn it on, but it's back to reality because this isn't 2009 anymore. If we played like we did last night, and I expect us to beat Ottawa, then we won't fair well and get our collective ASS kicked against either N.J or Washington in the later rounds, which scares the shit outta me. We'll play better Fri.

I'm worried about fleury too...but it definitely wasn't all his fault last night. Hopefully this gives them the kick in the butt they need!!

As terrible a complainer S2M is, wait, he is a great complainer, he was right about Fleury. His big fat rebounds killed Pittsburgh.

For those of you wishing and thinking Detroit and Pittsburgh in the final, no way. Detroit runs out of gas against a better Phoenix team and Pittsburgh loses in second round. I can see Buffalo going...and if, and it's a big if, Luongo plays great, Vancouver wins it all. They have depth, 2 nice lines, defense that can score on the PP, and they are very good on the PK as well. Like I said, Luongo is the key to these playoffs. I can see them losing in the first round to LA, unless he plays superb.

This Philly series is interesting to me... wish I could see those damn games. I see that Boucher pulled off a win last night - and granted, I don't get Philly games here so I don't know how well he's performed lately - but he seems to be a lot like the Hawks' Huet as far as inconsistency. When he's going good, he's on fire, and when he's not, he sucks on an unbelievable level. (Philly fans - if we have any - back off.. I'm a Boucher fan, but... man I've seen him pull off some serious suckitude).

I remember when he set the shut out record in 2004 with PHX - I was living there at the time and it was a really big deal... Those 5 games were just  ... amazing to watch something like that - then a month later we were like "is this the same goalie? Wtf happened?" Phoenix didn't keep him long, and neither did Chicago (I lost track of him after that... wasn't he with SJ last season? Or am I thinking of somone else?)

Philly might have the formula to take down N.J. Even though Philly had to win their LAST game to back in, they beat the Devils 5 times outta 6 this year. They def have their number. Interesting series indeed.

Well, since my Flames aren't playing - GO HABS! (not that they have much of a chance against the Caps, but they're playing pretty well right now).

And before you ask Deano - yes I live in BC and no, I am not and never will be a Canucks fan

I complain about officiating because the problem is rampant throughout the sporting world....in last night's Pens-Sens game Crosby threw a wicked crosscheck on Ruutu, literally bending him in half against the boards....and because Syd is the 'face of the league', nothing was called....officiating sucks across the board. Wake up, fucknut...

As far as my musical tastes...go have another keg, dickbreath, and listen to another Springsteen piece of shit CD. This site is for MELODIC MUSIC, not folk music. I support Trixter, Crazy Lixx, and D2....if you don't like it why are even here?

So, in summary...you are a fucking drunk, who can't wait to suck on Sedin and Luongo's cocks, while listening to Born in the USA.

Uhh, are you kidding me (Since you're not, I blame the refs.)

I suppose you didn't see this hit, but this is perfectly fine, right? How do you explain this one? NO CALL on a simply V-I-C-I-O-U-S hit that should had been a power play opportunity for the Pens. But it doesn't matter, you just miss the fact that hockey refs tend to let the players play more than any other sport. But still, this was a vicious hit that should have been called but would have NEVER mentioned it if the Sens go up 2-0 last night. It's how you operate.

Senators' Sutton delivers crushing hit on Penguins' Leopold
Saturday, April 17, 2010

Image

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Leopold was "suffering from the hit" and would be evaluated further today, but there were indications he is expected to be all right.

The NHL, which has led a crackdown on hits to the head, no doubt will review the hit by Sutton, who was not penalized. There were mixed views on whether the hit was legal.

"Apparently they thought it was clean," Penguins winger Bill Guerin said. "There's so much going on on the ice, we just have to trust the referees right now. This isn't a time for making a big stink about it.

Calls/Missed-judgmental calls go hand in hand. Some are called, some aren't. Crosby is actually watched more closely and has been called NUMEROUS times on some terrible calls against. He's treated NO different when the game calls for a certain type of penalty. Again, and it goes for EVERY hockey player. Some are called, some aren't.

Ok, but....

Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik thought "it seemed like a pretty good hit to me, to be honest. You never want to see anybody get hurt, but that was someone, from watching video, he likes to step up like that in the neutral zone. If anything, maybe Leopold was in a vulnerable position, leaning forward. Sutton's a guy who plays hard. I don't think he was out there to hurt guys."

Exactly my point. The point of my post is, stop bitching about EVERYTHING. But if there WAS a call to make at any given point, it's a head to head shot. If one wants to bitch, it's not going to be because of a "Crosby slash." It's going to be a vicious shot to the head.

It was a missed call, some thought it was clean, some say it wasn't, whatever. Stop bitching, and watch the damn game.

BTW: That same guy, Sutton, viciously put Pascal Dupuis in the boards earlier in the season. He WAS suspended for that hit. No coincidence it's the same guy that takes Leoopold's head off. It's the game of hockey, such things will occur. It's up to the refs to make the judgmental call. I'm cool with it.

I'm having a flashback to the 2009 playoffs, when the same thing happened to Marty Havlat - head down and Kronwall drove by and flattened him. I swear I'm gonna find that thread because I recall being argued with that it was a clean hit and I said it wasn't. If that was a clean hit, then so was the Leopold hit and so was whatever one S2M was bitching about. So yes, Travis, I agree, STFU and watch the damn game.

Dude, you don't get it: It's called the HUMAN element in sports. If we don't want human emotions, errors in judgment, and psychological warfare in sports, we might as well send robots out there to play and officiate. While I certainly don't condone bad officiating and don't deny that it exists, and I REALLY hate to see refs get overinvolved at the end of a game (or underinvolved as the case may be) in making calls or non-calls, the point is, it's one of the many variables that go into winning, along with the elements (if an outdoor sport), a team's ability to stay healthy, mental toughness etc etc.

Every one has complained about a perceived officiating bias or slant against his team in the past. Every single sports fan. But, when you whine about it after every fucking sporting event, including ones that you explicitly state you have no stake in, it just makes you look like a grumpy fuckin whiner that sits there all game waiting for some purported officiating bias or fuck up. It's totally beyond me how you can even enjoy watching sports given the fact that you apparently see conspiracies and games turning at the officials' hands in every sporting event you watch. Those of us who watch sports for excitement, drama, athleticism, and the passion of following our teams go far beyond that most of the time, and it's annoying for us to hear you bitch about refs after every fucking game.
