Burger King is out to destroy America

Postby Rip Rokken » Fri Apr 16, 2010 12:15 am

Forget the "Empire of Deceit", KFC. Burger King is once again pissing people off with it's advertising and the creepy "King" character. This time they are offending nutcase lunatics:

http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.acti ... 4978156290

They have a solid recent history of using controversy to sell fat food to our chillins. I remember when they re-defined the King in creepy ads showing him in bed with people, and doing generally unsettling things. People either love him or hate him now (same technique to spark conversation like the new Tiger Woods ad). So I did some digging back and was shocked at how many times they've taken fire for pushing the envelope. Check out this ad :)

Here's the fine print (italics mine):

"IT'LL BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY. Fill your desire for something long, juicy and flame-grilled with the NEW BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER. Yearn for more after you taste the mind-blowing burger that comes with a single beef patty, topped with American cheese, crispy onions and the A1 Thick and Hearty Steak Sauce."

I'd be interested to know how much more stevew2's spent at Burger King since that ad debuted almost a year ago.

And there is more -- here's one from 2008 where they took fire for taking advantage of indigenous Transylvanians in their "Whopper Virgins" campaign. That sucks worse than Dracula.

The official website:

Just like the radical far left, now the fast food chains are engaged in a sinister conspiracy to undermine the fabric of our nation with poisoned, chemical-laced food products and amoral, insensitive propoganda. It's time to call in Michael Eden.

Gino's had a hero sandwich like this back in the 70s, (along with KFC chicken, when the Colonel was still licensing out his recipe). The BK burger looks a bit like it. I used to think the Hero was huge but now days, it's nothing special.

All I know is, is that Hollywood should cash in on the opportunity and put that big ass BK King in some kind of horror movie. I'd be scared to death every millisecond that dude is on the screen. Like that one commercial when that dude wakes up from sleeping in the morning and that creep ass BK King is just sitting there staring at him right in the face. I would of jumped up and pulled an Austin Powers Juto Chop in brute fear. Freaks me the HELL out.

I know for a fact that Transylvanians are not so much into fast food. We're all thin vampires around there.
But those who want to taste a burger, choose MacDonalds. Or KFC.

I love the King!

I do not eat at Burger King, though... never was a fan.

The king is creapy...................and they go too far. It is one thing to be funny, but when you sell to families it is not smart in a poor economy to piss off the parents of the kiddies. The big buns video creaped me out.  It would have been fine for late night ads to adult folks, but they were selling the kiddie meals with that! I thought............dur......I took advertising earlier in college...........bad mistake.
