Now reports are saying that the Rooney's are only listening to offers, and have NOT been calling teams within the NFL. Ed Bouchette from the gazette says the only thing in front of him from within STEELERS sources are that the Rooney's WANT Ben to think of what life could be like as a Raider, or Brown and are doing what Matt suggested, scare tactics.

The Rooney's report ON kdka (LOCAL NEWS): Rumor's FALSE. They have NOT made offers to other teams, and Ben will be a Pittsburgh Steeler. Trade rumors a 'dead option.'

Dude, you should pick us up a couple of tickets for the Raiders/Steelers game and I'll make the drive out.

Could be possible. I had shot at Steelers season tickets but couldn't get the call in time. Might have crack next year, but I have connections through my father and go to MANY games, and Oakland is always a game that comes my way each year the two teams play. That would be fun.

Joe Haden. Helluva pick for the Browns. Gettin' a gamer and that corner that can challenge within the division.

This 6 game suspension for Ben is total bullshit. I was figuring maybe 2 games. Personally, I wouldn't have fined him a quarter, let alone 6 games. Could you imagine if the NBA had this type of penalty sctructure? The league would be all white.

Tebow goes 25 to Denver, before Clausen or McCoy. Wow, this is just....unbelievably a balsy pick. Tebow is everything you DON'T want as a solid quarterback coming in the draft. His spirit, yes. Determination, yes. Popularity, yes. Will, yes. But quarterback, NO! What a terrible move, they got a LOT of work to do with virtually EVERYTHING about Tebow's skills as a passer.

The Tebow pick is much crazier because of the earlier acquisition of Quinn. I really don't get that. I am having a pretty big change of heart about Tebow and wouldn't have felt that bad about the Browns grabbing him in the second round... but man... Orton, Quinn, and Tebow? Pretty ballsy. I predict McDaniels is fired in two years. Broncos should have taken Bryant with that pick after trading Marshall.

I was kinda hopin for Spiller, but I like the Haden pick for sure. Hopefully Mangini told Holmgren that he saw some Revis in Haden [and is right]

How many times do you think Clausen is wishing death upon Quinn tonight? Dude is plummeting. I want the Browns to pick him or McCoy up at this point. Couldn't hurt. Clausen got Quinned in a big way this year, LOL.

The Browns, IMO, WILL pick either McCoy OR Clausen with their early 2nd round pick tomorrow, it's almost a shoe-in. Personally, I think McCoy would be a better fit for Cleveland, he's a gritty player with heart and a edginess and attitude that Cleveland hasn't seen since... Kosar? McCoy would be a nice fit for you turd fans, because you wouldn't want 2 Notre Dame busts coming in within 3 years.

Bill has finally lost his mind. There were two other DB's on the board the Pats could have selected who are better than this kid. What a fucking joke.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night

How bout the Lions? Suh, Stafford, and Best is a nice young core if Stafford and Best pan out [Suh almost certainly will barring a freak injury]. Could they finally get decent?!

I like Clausen even though the Notre Dame thing is disconcerting. I never thought about the McCoy-Kosar analogy. I'll be happy to take a chance on either of them. I never thought Clausen would be available in round 2. Interesting night.

I think the steal of the draft might be the Cowboys snagging Bryant at 24. That's easily a top 5 caliber player who fell because of diva reports.

I can't undertsand the Broncos' thinking. They have a shitload of draft picks from the Bears in the Cutler trade and they might be packaging Tebow together with some of those picks and trading for someone really good. That's the only reason I can come up with for drafting Tebow in the first round. And the Bears could have kept all of their fucking draft picks and just selected Clausen. Man, do they look stupid right now.

There are obvious needs with this Steelers team..

but my wishlish for today is RB Toby Gerhart! This guy is an absolute HOME WRECKER and would look ABSOLUTELY stunning in Black and Gold. Talk about goalline back? Little dose of Mendenhall and Gerhart will have teams saying uncle. I watched him last year, and I fell in love with the dude when he faced Notre Dame. This guy was seriously splitting necks all over the place. Steeler written all over him, if not, I'll follow this dude. Reminds me of Alstott with a mixture of Eddie George.

Nobody is taking Gerhart seriously, but I think he's gonna be a stud too. I hope you guys don't take him!

He is currently 0-0. Going from college to the NFL is like learning Japanese within a dime's notice. Mix that in with the system that Tebow has run, and that's an opinionated offense that barely asked him to go under center and drop back into the backfield on his back pedal, read a defense, & deliver with accuracy within the pocket, something that is BASIC in the NFL as a quarterback taken in the first round.

The NFL is so deep compared to the college level that it is virtually a different game, which leads me to believe that a Jimmy Clausen or a Colt McCoy, given the system they ran at college, is more NFL ready than a top pick like Bradford. My opinion, Tebow is so far off from anywhere near the caliber that is the professional football league that it's going to be sick to watch him in any system other than the Wildcat. Unless the "grace of god" comes down personally to touch him with the gift to be an NFL quarterback, this dude will eventually be an H-back by the 4th year of his career.

Nonetheless, he'll get his shot and needs to prove to virtually everyone, wrong.

Based on what? Pure conjecture unless some statement has been made I'm not aware of.

As of now, I see a team with an unproven but likely bad QB (Quinn), a proven mediocre QB Orton, and a huge question mark in general in Tebow, QB or not, that also just traded Brandon Marshall. It just makes no sense to me and it seems they panicked.

Sorry Sponge, I didn't write that well. I too am so confused as to why Alter Boy went this high and to this team, so I have no other clue as to think McDaniels is going to convert Teebow. He is a rocked up motherfucker, just look at him. He could play Mike Alstott for the Horsies if need be.
