SuperBowl to have multiple acts for halftime?

Postby Don » Sat Apr 24, 2010 10:33 am

There's talk about having different Genres represented with Kenny Chesney closing out the performance.
Good or bad idea?

Every music fan cares. They did it about ten years ago, when Shania Twain and Gwen Stefani did it. This is the most sought after gig in music. Ask Tom Petty, Mick Jagger, Bono and Bruce Springsteen. The only reason Bruce did it was for album sales.

LoL, shut up Chubby, your boy Pineda and Journey aren't getting anywhere close to that stage.

It's going to be here, so you know it's going to be some fucked up country bullshit, including reflections of the assed out soap opera "Dallas" and junk like that. It will be over southernized, making everyone that lives here, look like cattle roping, snuff dipping, square dancing idiots.

Ewww...speaking of Dallas, did you ever notice they all put on soft Georgian accents? Didn't sound anything like Texans. :?

I'm not a total Country hater. I can dig some things by Garth Brooks. Who in the fuck names their kid Garth? Or Shania Twain, who's name is Thelma or some such shit, I'm ok with that. But I'm thinking Rascal Flatts or Keith Urban, who I don't absolutely hate, but just don't listen to, I'm not into that stuff.

I think multiple genres is a smart idea...something to please every taste, plus that many more viewers will tune in. Don't think Kenny Chesney is exciting enough to close the show though. Since it will be Texas, Carrie Underwood and Meat Loaf would be interesting choices...I was going to say Eagles to close the show but apparently they turned it down :? I would like to see Fleetwood Mac do it

No, no problem at all! I like Styx and have seen them a few times over the years. REO's OK as well. I just don't think Bridgestone, or whoever coughs up all those millions for a 20 minute show would book those bands.

You know what would be cool? If they got bands from the teams' states that got into the game. It may be a stretch sometimes, but better than the Who looking bored up there.
