But this really isn't pushing the envelope if it's just a ripoff of Lady Gaga (more crap) and it sucks to boot. If this is the direction music videos are going, what is next? That is what worries me!

Music videos are going to die out soon, I don't think they hold much influence. Practically no one in my generation and younger watches them (I still do). Maybe once on YouTube and that's about it... and the only tv channels playing videos now are a couple of deep cable ones.

For the record, Lady Gaga's got some great pipes as does Christina. I'm not a fan of Gaga music in general but she most definitely can sing.

Agreed on Gaga....And videos.

I agree they are both talented artists. Aguilera in particular has a phenomenal voice (though she oversings the life out of songs - no subtlety). But I don't like their music and think they have gone for shock value over quality.

The only music videos I watch now are old ones which is why I am being shocked now over Lady Gaga - I thought she was all about the stupid outfits. They don't seem to show that many music videos on music video channels! Every time I go to one, it's either reality TV or reruns of old movies with hit soundtracks, like Dirty Dancing (which I watch every time  ).

cool..

is their a website that shows how all the hair bands from the 80's ripped each other off?

probably...

I'll post that in the "80s Videos - Too Far?" thread... ;)

 Get it going!

I would be happy with an all 80s music video thread - they are the only ones that are any good! Better music and the concepts for the videos had not yet been ripped off and rehashed over and over.

Thank you very much. If an artist can strip a song down to bare-bones format like that and deliver I will give credit where credit is due. Unfortunately, the market isn't susceptible to this style/format.
