Your favorite videos from the 80's were...

I was just sitting here thinking about the heyday of MTV, and remembered how kick-ASS some of the videos were! :D :( Here are a couple of my favorites... what are yours?

Whitesnake: "Is This Love"

Kiss: "Tears Are Falling"

One of my favorite videos of the very late 80s: Woman In Chains. A great duet. You have a gorgeous boxer, sexy stripper, my man Roland singing with the debut of Oleta Adams. How can you go wrong with a stripper and hunky boxer? And a little bit of interview on this as a lead in, which explained the dual meaning behind Woman in Chains, which I found interesting, about freeing the feminine within man. I like the way they did it in black and white, not color.

While there were lots of really god-awful music videos in the 80's, some were fun and creative. Here are a couple I like.

Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer

Money For Nothing - Dire Straits

Like a lot of their videos. I much preferred the live band videos to the storyline ones, their musicians. Wayne Isham (director) kicks ass, he was pretty much the one who did all those 80s live concert footage videos from Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Metallica and a bunch of others....and of course Journey's When You Love A Woman. http://www.mvdbase.com/tech.php?last=Isham&first=Wayne

But I did get a kick out of Bon Jovi's Always video and how ALL 4 of the actors in that music video went on to be movie or tv stars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BMwcO6_hyA

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I actually went to work one Halloween dressed like this (2005), complete with the white stripe and tomahawk bretts.
No one knew who I was of course.
Them: What are you supposed to be, a pirate?
Me: No, I'm Adam Fucking Ant.

A great, fun song. As soon I would hear the first few notes begin playing on the T.V., I would start doing the white boy shuffle, even if I was in another room.
