I figured goaltending and sloppy play would kill the Pens. But Crosby setting the tone by...taking a bad penalty and having the Habs score first...not a good way to end it.

So the defending Cup run is over. The Flyers/Bruins are going to Game 7. I've already got my predictions for the Conference final.

For the West, This is pretty even-steven as far as matchups go. Both teams can rack up goals, and both goalies are suspect. I smell another high-scoring series. I'm sticking to my guns: Sharks over Blackhawks, and it'll go the distance of 7.

The Pens are down, so now the road goes through the team that beat them. I don't like either the Bruins or Flyers, whoever gets through. You have seen the problems with the Bruins as they let a 3-0 lead turn into a Game 7....The problem with the Flyers is their lack of depth. Do you see how different they are as a team when Simon Gagne is in the lineup? They're getting the job done now. I seriously think they'll pull it off on friday.

But it won't matter. When you beat both Crosby AND Ovechkin while down 3-1 in both series, that there tells me the Montreal Canadiens are the most complete team this year, the team of Destiny. I'd like to see them win it all. Bring the Cup to Canada, Montreal!

If the Bruins advance, the Canadiens will sweep.
If the Flyers advance, the Canadiens win in 6.

Habs were down 3-2 before heading back to MTRL in the Pens series. But yeah, the Pens played sloppy pretty much all series, more-so during the last 3 games they lost and the Canadians just played quality defense and stayed patient and let the Pens fumble all over themselves. I've never seen a Pens team turn the puck over as much as they did. Fleury didn't have a shot most of the time and was caught in many 1 on 1's, as well as 2 on 1's and a lot of ice between him and the defender in front of him. Pens will get a nice, well earned break.

The Habs are due, been awhile so I'm happy for them. They deserve it. Even though I thought they were mediocre, even in some W's they beat us in early, they are just that team that gives certain teams fits, and the Pens and Caps are one of them. I'm eager to see if they can keep it up.

Holy Hockey Highness that's happiness for me!!!!!
My ever lovin underdogs take down another.
If the Habs go no further I am proud of this outcome.

Travis and Lynn your posts socked me right in the sap sucker.
Thank you for being so sweetly.
I sure wasn't sold on Montreal winning this one, from where I sat
Pittsburgh was the better team more than once.
The Habs had the luck of the puck and in some cases the pipes as well.
What a great series, it was a pleasure pucking off with you Penguins.

I'd like to see CHI have a crack at the flyers. They had Boucher as a goalie for awhile so they'll know how to get around him.

I have a question... why is the CHI-SJS schedule different based on who wins tonight?

http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=529203

Either way, an east coast team travels to Montreal, and either way, Montreal does not start on home ice, so why is the Western Conf schedule affected by that?

I will happen to be at a sports bar tonight and I will be sure that a tv near me has the game on  No one else Im with will care. So I may have to pretend Im into the conversation while watching over their heads  (shhh, melissa you didnt' hear that!! ) I want to say go Philly! Since they are the "other" PA team, but then if the Bruins win it, I could root for them also for the eastern conference. We shall see!! :)

WAY TO GO FLYERS !!!!

Game 7 totally reflected the seriers. Coming back from 3-0 to 3-4. This team is motivated.
What a series. What a game.

I knew the Bruins would blow it. But to do so after having a 3-0 lead in Game 7? I cringed when they went to trap after building that lead. They reaped what they sewed. The trap in today's NHL is like the prevent defense in the NFL; it only prevents you from winning.

I'd like to know what Peter LaViolette said to his Flyers team when he took that timeout during the Bruins game. They've scored 10 straight goals without giving one up since then! Damn.

Is that a bad Japanese translation? Such as 'This momentum are belong to us?'

Boy does my Av ever looked stupidly after that game, not gonna take it down just yet though.
I partially blame myself for last nights outcome, was late in putting on my jersey and lighting my candles.
We had company over for a BBQ and we were all still outside during the first period.
I didn't sit down to watch the game until mid second period and knew it was over then.
So it's settled, no more company over during a game unless we all watch it together.
That should work.

Good game Flyers but don't go feeling all full of yourselves because I'm sharpening
my skates now for to clip your wings in the next one.

Happy to see Chicago won, an "original six" Stanley stick off would be sweet.
