Damn I miss those days.I really think I grew up in the best damn decade that this planet will ever have. Sometimes I wonder "Do our parents feel this way? Our grand parents?" I don't think it's the same for them. They played outside as kids, and sure... they messed around with girls, but it was nothing like growing up through the MTV generation. We basically grew up to a soundtrack. All of the movies we watched had 80's rock or ballads in them. 80's rock was a time for experimental keyboard sounds from bands, screaming guitars solos, and huge melodic songs. A time when British bands (other than the Beatles) stormed the stages and our airwaves.
I would give anything to go back to around 1987 for the rest of my life. Pretty sad I know, but I miss that time and era so bad! I couldn't imagine being without my son or my wife, but I would just love to go back to life back then (at times anyways).

Even though I grew up in the 90s, I still came of age when the music video was a BIG deal. I spent countless hours watching 120 Minutes, MTV, VH-1 etc. I didn't have the awesome selection you guys did back then, but I still experienced the culture of music. Grunge, love or hate it, at least still defined a generation culturally to a large extent. Today, the only thing that defines these younger generations is fucking rap/hip hop... disgusting. That plus the lack of the music video really makes this different even from the 90s.
Aside from that, I've always been drawn to 70s/80s culture... movies, music, history etc... so I was always very well-versed in what being a teenager/young adult in the 80s musta been like. I feel like I sorta do know what it must have been like to grow up in the 80s... Woulda been cool.
