The point I was trying to make. Was Journey sold out in 2009 which made it pretty clear to the promoters that 80"s music still sells.

Aerosmith owes Journey a big"Thank You"

Just a few years ago, Aerosmith sold out multiple shows at the Tokyo Dome, 50k people a night. Journey was playing gymnasiums over there last year. I know that wasn't the states but I don't think you can say Aerosmith owes Journey anything.

Aerosmith has had 11 top ten hits over the last 20 years compared to one for Journey. By staying relevant they have earned (or at least earned the ability to demand) what they get.

If Journey asks for a miilion dollars to play there, I'm sure the promoter will tell them "Sure, we'll sign the check, just as soon as Steve Perry steps on the stage".

Up Yours GB! I guarantee you Aerosmith would have never had the offer without Journey's success at NYSF.

That's cuz they still love their good ol' rock n' roll overseas. Heck, Mr Big, after re-uniting after 15 years, sold out the Budakon twice over, last year.

If we go by that, Aerosmith should be able to collect a million dollars from State fairs all over the country then as Journey was packing them in from Indiana, through Kentucky and all over the North American continent.

You make your own success. By this analogy, Neal should have been kissing Joe Elliot's ass for the chance of co-headlining with Leppard and finishing up on Billboards top 15 tours of 2006/7, despite having a singer who as Cain puts it wasn't able to deliver that legacy sound.

I wonder if Styx, REO, NR, another eighties band or even Journey, NOW, could have done this based on Journey's success last year!!
BJ, no doubt, but I think VH could/would w/ Sammy or DLR!!
